  1. He'res the write up on Cavan Biggio (listed as a 40 FV overall and outisde the team's top 22 prospects) from Cistulli at Fangraphs: Cavan Biggio, 2B Biggio would have been a contender for the designation of Cistulli’s Guy three weeks ago, too. His combination of plate discipline and plus defensive value — if not shortstop-type defensive value — are the sort that translate well to the majors. A month of minor-league play reveals the other advantage of Biggio’s skillset — namely that, with the addition of some power, it can transform a future bench profile into something more substantial. Now 58 plate appearances into his Double-A career, Biggio has produced nearly identical walk and strikeout rates to his High-A campaign last year. He’a also produced fewer grounders, though, and — in what is probably a related development — already hit four home runs, leading all Double-A in isolated power. Any retention of that power would change Biggio’s future outlook pretty considerably. And here's his GB/FB numbers, which as you can see are drastically different from years past:
  2. update on Pearson, he threw in the extended spring training game on Wednesday the 2nd. he may through again in ST game before joining Dunedin
  3. who declared anyone a dynasty ?
  4. True. Raps are a very good team, but will never get over the hump in the playoffs with their current core.
  5. Performances of the Day: TJ Zuech, Vlad Jr, Juan Kelly, Justin Dillon, Tim Lopes Honourable mentions: Kevin Vicuna, Samad Taylor, Norberto Obeso, Ivan Castillo, Cavan Biggio, Harold Ramirez, Gunner Heidt, Darnell Sweeney
  6. He's a light hitting infielder on a hot streak. He has 15 career minor league home runs so he's not a power threat at all, but he does have experience all over the infield at 3rd, SS and 2b, so at best he's a bench utility IF imo.
  7. Yes big names do get traded in their last year under contract, but usually only when the team is not in contention for a playoff spot. So... it's likely he gets traded if the Jays suck. It's very unlikely if they don't suck.
  8. That's not good for Pillar to have a strike called that far outside. He'll be swinging at the next one in the dugout
  9. This is killing my head to head fantasy league given my opponent has Donaldson.... but it's good for the Jays so I begrudgingly support his raking today.
  10. Lansing pitcher Yennsy Diaz named Player of the month for April for the Midwest League. Lansing Lugnuts (Blue Jays) right-hander Yennsy Diaz dominated the Midwest League in April, going 3-0 with a 0.31 ERA in five starts (one earned run in 28.2 innings) as he allowed only six hits (four singles, a double and a home run). Diaz did not allow more than two hits in any of his five starts and has not allowed an extra-base hit in his last three starts. Only two runners have reached third base in his last 15 innings pitched (both were stranded there). Diaz, 21, was signed by Toronto out of Azua, Dominican Republic, on May 29, 2015.
  11. Raps are a great regular season team, but what Paul Pierce said a few years ago is 100% true. There's nothing scary about them. They don't have a superstar and you need at least 1 in today's NBA.
  12. Except nobody on the core team was actually brought in by AA, he basically inherited the start of what could be a dynasty and basically just has to sit back, plug a few FA holes with cheap rent-a-veterans and watch while he gets credit for somethung someone else built. Nice gig if you can get it.
  13. It's what an NBA fan woild be tortured with in hell, being forced to watch DeRozan ISO ball at the end of quarters and halves for eternity
  14. Was the Tristan Pompey 1st round talk all legit or has he had a bad spring dropping him out of 1st round draft possibilities?
  15. This boy covers some ground... Holy s***
  16. Erection inducing performances of the day: Sean Reid-Foley, Cavan Biggio, Juan Kelly, Chavez Young, Kevin Smith, Brock Lundquist, Nash Knight, Bradley Jones, Sam Gaviglio Honourable Mentions: Zach Logue, Kevin Vicuna, Christian Williams, Ivan Castillo, Bo Bichette, Harold Ramirez, Rowdy Tellez,
  17. From Baseball America's April 30 Prospect Hot Sheet: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/top-mlb-prospects-hot-sheet-43018/ And I'll just repeat that last line in case anyone glossed over it... He's been kept off base in just 21 games as a pro.... out of 200 games.
  18. Just sayin... but Morales has positive baserunning value right now...
  19. LOL. Definitely. Actually a little hot streak now may help KC trade for him.
  20. you dare try to usurp me???? The nerve of these kids today.....
