  1. Universally hated villian? This isn't even remotely true lol. Never change Grant. Never ever change.
  2. Also nice to see guys like King, Pinango and Stanifer jumping up there. Arias would likely be higher if he had any international pedigree on him when he signed.
  3. Meh. Guys like him get sued all the time for ******** just because people see a payday. From the article it also sounds like his manager was the douchebag, but yeah Ohtani is gonna take heat for it for sure. Also, I'm no real estate mogul, but I'm willing to bet this kind of thing happens all the time.
  4. 7-6 now. Don't take your victory lap quite yet. Though I truly hope you end up being right
  5. Thats a fine way to think, in general. But the Jays best players against LHP are not the same as their best players against RHP 1-9. The only guys that should be in the lineup 100% of the time with zero weight put into their splits with regard to starting are Bo, Vlad, Kirk, Springer, Santander (assuming health), Varsho and probably Lukes. Theur plave in the batting order should certainly change though. Varsho has some split issues, but should probably start the majority of games just because of his defensive prowess and the fact that Straw doesnt really give an advantage against LHP vs him. Giminez has fairly neutral splits, but they're just average, so when a lefty is up and you have a better option that doesn't suck on D (Clement or even Schneider), its defensible to make a switch. Clement and Barger both have very sizeable split problems that make it advantageous to deploy them more selectively. The great thing about the Jays right now is they really don't get dominated by lefty pitching so even if Barger, Varsho, Lukes or Gimenez don't start vs a lefty, chances are that lefty isnt going to be around very long and they'll get into the game anyways.
  6. Cuban SP Sylvano Hecchavarria also promoted to Vancouver
  7. Ya don't just ignore platoon splits because its getting late in the season. Whats the logic in changing the process that got them to there they are? Yes, id alter the lineup a bit too, just not drastically
  8. MLB prospect re-ranks just came out Yesavage 26 Parker 41 Nimmala 51 Organization top 10 Yesavage Parker Nimmala Tieddeman King Stanifer Pinango Bloss Arias Schreck
  9. That is a plus for sure
  10. Probably doesnt mean anything tbh. If they have plans to bring him up in September the only things that matters to them is his innings and pitch counts...not if he starts the games in Buffalo or not
  11. Shooting right the system like a bad batch of egg salad. Ya love to see it.
  12. Thats just it, the playoffs, and how they're structured with the off days basically level the playing field. Depth doesnt matter nearly as much. The top 3 starters and top 3 pen arms from team to team in the post season don't really have a massive gap. I think the Jays are probably the deepest team in the AL... but none of that really matters in short series unless all kinds of crazy s*** happens
  13. Guaranteed the scorecard will be posted and bitched about to high heaven tomorrow
  14. It's definitely a higher variance pen. If ya look at each guy, they all have strengths, and all have weaknesses too. It sucks when all the weaknesses seem to show up at the same time.
  15. I lift some after the 2nd walk... it was clear he had no control at all. Thing is, hes the guy. Right now, rightly or wrongly, hes going to be the guy called on in the 9th the majority of the time. Unless they decide to give him a bit of a breather in a setup role to try and get his game back... hes gonna be the guy. I think one of the real problems is not using him for 7 days at time... yeah gonna be a bit rusty. Get him in there a bit more to keep him in a flow and rhythm.
  16. If they want to bring up a guy who walks more hitters than we can count....sure.
  17. To be fair, the Dodgers outclass every team in the league. They have HoF talents in the first 3 spots in the order, a HOF starter who's not even their best because their best starter is also one of those HOF talents on the top 3 of the batting order. The pen is legit. Beating the Dodgers is a monumental task when they're at their worst...let alone when things are going their way. That said... its almost like the Jays were playing with a "deer in the headlights" look, kinda like they were just there to see the Dodgers play amd see what happens. That's probably largely a made up construct, but I didnt get the feeling like the Jays were up for the series and were on their back foot the whole time.
  18. Fluharty gonna be lining up for a BJ from the rest of the pen after this shitshow. Except Varland and Little.
  19. 13 f***ing walks given up by Jays pitching today ....
  20. Varland gonna be the new closer next game.
  21. Fluharty gonna save the day ... If any of you believe in the power of prayer, now would be the time to start
  22. this inning alone... 3 strikes 15 pitches.
  23. Dodger's dont even need to bring bats to the box... just go stand there until he walks you
  24. Hoffman has to come out, this is ridiculous
