  1. Damn, that give up seems expensive. I have to believe the Jays aren't pulling another Dickie trade here, but your top 2 prospects for 1.5 years of Berrios is kind of a head scratcher, unless an extension is announced. Right now, as of 2023 the only arms we have as starters are Ryu and Manoah. Can't count on Pearson at this point, though that could change. Manoah even could take a giant step back, or be hurt, you never know for sure. Who else is coming up the pipeline? Better hope all those arms they drafted this year get good. If I am in the boots of Atkins, my focus just shifted to getting extensions done on both Berrios and Ray. Ryu, Berrios, Ray as a top 3 through the end of 2023 just became really important IMO, and you hope that Manoah and Pearson round out your 5 while the rest develop.
  2. no kidding. Did a quick run down of the top AL teams by standing + the Jays. Columns are HR, Runs scored via HR, Total Runs, % of team runs scored via HR and overall Run diff. Toronto is highest, but it's not like it's in another universe. Houston 103 182 442 41.2 142 Toronto 114 179 387 46.2 65 Boston 96 167 391 42.7 42 Tampa 95 178 388 45.9 85 CWS 72 129 368 35.1 81 Cleveland 89 139 319 43.6 -3 Oakland 99 147 364 40.4 34
  3. Lol, poor Gurriel. He wants a hit so bad to join the party but just cant get that timing right now
  4. I'll say this for Wade, at least he isn't walking them in.
  5. Not mention a bullpen that doesnt walk in 6 runs every other f***ing night.
  6. I almost lost my s*** at that mindless decision. Here’s the wonder-moron’s response, taken from a Bill Ladson article: Montoyo never thought about walking Harper to load the bases and instead pitching to Alec Bohm, who is hitting .326 as a rookie after Friday's action. “The guy on deck has been their best hitter over the last three weeks,” Montoyo said. That’s right. The guy on deck has been their best hitter in the past 3 weeks. Never mind the completely obvious RH/Lh thing, the fact that’s Harper can hit any pitch 500 feet, whose GB rate gains RHP isn’t likely, that there was a base open to set up the double play with what would have been a right on right matchup with a guy who throws sinkers, Who has a 50% gb rate against a guy Who has a 50% gb rate and who DID hit a ground ball against him that very likely could have been two, or maybe only 1 at worst if the DP wasn’t turned. Yup, he’s been their best hitter over the past three weeks. f***ing idiot needs to be fired the millisecond this season is over and I almost hope the Jays lose every game for the rest of the season if it would guarantee his firing
  7. Gotta save the pen I guess.
  8. Yeah that’s right Buck...Verdugo, A lefty, “turned” on that fastball and hit it by the shortstop, playing at short. f***ing drunk moron. Spanky would be better commentator
  9. You misunderstand, the past anecdotes are the only good part of his ability. Everything else is garbage. He’s a worse commentator than Montoyo is a manager
  10. Jesus Christ Buck will you shut up about analytics? You don’t understand them, you never will and your takes about anything that isn’t based on 1970s anecdotes about players that were 100 times better than you are nauseating. Just retire Buck, you were a s***** catcher, a shittier manager and now you’re an even shittier commentator. You’re the trifecta of s***
  11. It’s somewhat garish for sure but teams and MLB will do whatever they can to try and make up for the massive revenue shortfall from lack of fans in the stands
  12. I promise you, Atkins is looking at every position to upgrade, not just pitching and defensive upgrades. He may get nowhere, but he’s looking
  13. I’m guessing because he wants Bass to throw since he hasn’t since Saturday. Though you could easily have a Dolis go 2, then Bass throw the 9th
  14. F is too lame. Alt F4 is the real respect
  15. Why do people still use batting average as some sort of measure of skill?
  16. You can lead a fatty To a treadmill, but you can’t make him run. Take it from a fellow fatty
  17. I don’t think most think that service time manipulation is great. People want to see the best players play regardless of service time. The problem is the CBA as it currently is invites the manipulation so teams can exert extra control over said players. Speaking for myself, I don’t see it as great - merely a necessary evil given the current rule set that I would gladly eradicate if I could.
  18. No doubt. But I feel like if anyone would actually sign 1 year at a time just to troll the world, it would be Bauer.
  19. I think it’s the right move this time, Wags was definitely struggling and had already thrown 40 pitches in less than 2 innings.
  20. Borucki only threw 21 pitches so it wouldn’t be crazy to see him available for a key lefty matchup if it happens to come along and Kay is already used.
  21. Yes. Because Wags will likely be optioned after the game to get Anderson called up to start tomorrow and they might actually need Borucki and Kay tomorrow with all of Boston’s lefties. Waguespack will not be needed so may as well get as much from him as possible tonight and hope it’s not a disaster
