  1. It would hopefully be left up to Brown to see if he wanted to pursue a promotion if one was available. It’s incredibly douchey to stop someone from pursuing a promotion with a different club if a position is available and that club has asked permission to interview one of your employees for it.
  2. He’s the VP of scouting, GM would be a pretty big step up. Besides, here Atkins is Executive Vice President, Baseball Operations & General Manager, so Brown coming here would be exactly what you suggested.
  3. Bo in the 2 spot just has to stop. It’s not working. He’s not getting on base enough and not hitting the ball well enough. He’s just not the right kind of guy to be hitting that high right now. Springer, Vlad, Kirk, Teo, Gurriel, Bo, Biggio, Chapman, Espinal.
  4. Dana Brown to replace Atkins please. Brown is such a master of player evaluations it’s disgusting
  5. I doubt it, but there aren't many player only option years on contracts anymore. Usually it's just team options or mutual options, which are really just team options in disguise. Opt-outs exist, but players will very rarely opt out unless they 100% know they are going to make more money.
  6. Is Russia causing a fire sale?
  7. Just because they could. I know it sounds dumb but that’s honestly the only reason
  8. “Regression to the mean” doesn’t explain swing decisions when he’s never had a problem with swing decisions in the past. You should probably understand both the question and your own answer before sounding like a twit
  9. Very possible I guess, he has been getting hosed a ton
  10. What good is Vlad losing weight in the off-season if he packs it all back on by the all star break?
  11. Espinal swing decisions have been pure trash for like 6 weeks now, wtf
  12. Awe, now I want orange slices…
  13. Well, given what we’ve seen from other pitchers on the staff recently, I’d rather see a guy make them hit their way on then getting 8 free base runners without swinging a bat in 2 innings
  14. Holy god this is gonna be along game…ump is a clown show
  15. He’s gonna go yard tonight. Book it
  16. July 7 Vladdy - 1 Point - Dylan Kirk - 1 Point - Bichette - 2 Points - Stangstag Teo - 2 Points - Chapman - 3 Points - Gurriel Jr - 4 Points - Espinal - 5 Points - Moreno - 7 Points - JFD Zimmer - 8 Points - John_Havok Off the bench: 9 Points -
  17. Ah yes, the old phantom neck injury from watching balls either get rocketed over your head, or whiplash from having to check all the baserunner's you've put on via walk or HBP. About time.
  18. He's light years better with the bat than Tapia, and though usually worse on D, Tpaia has played so terribly in the field this year Schwarber would actually represent an upgrade.
  19. Don't get me wrong, I would probably rather see him in the lineup than Tapia - just that 2B is a pipe dream. Any guy at 24 that's been identified as a 1b/DH and THEN a LF has virtually 0 chance anywhere else on the diamond.
  20. But did he buy them a nice meal?
  21. How did you arrive at the conclusion they've been testing him at 2b? Was it the 2 games he played there in 2019, or the 1 game he played there last year? or the 0 games he's played there this year? He's had exactly 6 balls hit to him at 2b in his minor league carrer and made an error on one of them. He's not being tested at 2b. LF. Ok. they've been giving him some looks out there but its like 80% 1B, and the rest split between LF and DH, with 16 games at DH and only 10 in LF. That doesnt give me much confidence in his defensive ability to play the OF - moreso like a "we'll stick him out there if we really get in a jam and pray nobody hits the ball there" kind of scenario. Dude can hit minor league pitching well, no doubt. I hope he keeps hitting. I hope he makes it hard to keep him down... but the only way he sees time on this roster with all the bodies already here needing DH time is do to a lot of injuries or trades opening a spot at DH.
  22. Gotta reign in those strikeouts though. Power is legit, swing-happy with very few walks….not so good
  23. I was thinking something similar, but the only guy to hit would be Moreno, then i guess put in Zimmer for the bottom of the 9th in CF and shift the shittiest player on the team to left, moving Teo to RF. I would probably have done it.
