  1. Any teams out there shopping front line starters with control?
  2. I'm beginning to undertand that your posting name is one of the greatest ironies out there right now.
  3. Springer had his elbow surgery today, expected to be ready for spring training.
  4. For balls and strikes.... yup. Still need them for everything else that needs calling at the plate.
  5. It also depends highly on which calls are being challenged. When you look at the umpire scorecards, you can see the umps are far better at calling pitches outside of the strike zone correctly, vs in the strike zone.
  6. yeah, I think this is just a baby step they are doing rather than jumping straight into "earpiece with the ump" kind of thing where they get 1 tone for a strike, or 2 for a ball...then the ump just signals the call. To me, the latter is the preferred choice. Challenges is not the right way to go if you have the tech to do it the other way. Challenges could get very tedious very quickly on both sides of the ball.
  7. 33% is still really really high.
  8. Yeah that second one is pretty cool. Good for him.
  9. Hang on... are you suggesting that the inning a reliever pitches in will somehow change their fWAR?
  10. Coincidences are fun for sure. I wonder how many old Padres fan dies exactly 1 year ago from the date of their elimination.
  11. Next time Angrioter posts, just ask him what a typical Dominican response would be to being called a Mexican
  12. People can talk about the 2017 astros for decades, it has no bearing on the 2022 astros
  13. Yup, they win with an objectively average team, yet get bounced with a vastly superior one. So much of MLB post season comes down to who's hot and who's not.
  14. Jays lineup is definitely deeper though. Like with the Jays at full strength and using an opitmal lineup, there are no easy outs. Philly's bottom 3 are not the least bit scary. The Jays bottom 4 when optimal is probably Chappy, Jansen, Merrifield and either Espinal or Biggio. I guess maybe the case could be made that neither Biggio nor Espinal are scary, but they dont give away PAs very much.
  15. Another good point, why Hader wasnt in the game in that spot is kinda confusing.
  16. Check the highlight of the HR, according to the broadcaster he earned his entire contract with that one home run. Facts
  17. I dont get why the Padres kept pitching to him, he was locking the entire series with 2 underperforming guys behind him. I know the old school way of thinking that you dont want the go ahead run on base... but how do you let Harper beat you when the next 5 guys up after him are all hitting like crap.
  18. Don't forget irrational, illogical, emotional and whiney.
  19. Houston sweeps tha Yankees and the first thing Costas talks about on the broadcast is trash can lids from 5 years ago. What a joke. How many players on this years roster are even held over from 5 years ago... like 4? its a completely different team, different manager, different front office, FFS let it go already.
  20. There's fans and media that seem to think Dave Roberts should be fired from LA.
  21. My main argument is that this whole idea that "The 2022 Toronto Blue Jays did not appear to hate losing more than they loved winning." is ridiculous. They won 92 games. That, in itself would seem to counter your hypothesis that they did not "appear to hate losing more than they loved winning." Now, are there instances where certain players could have hustled more? Yup. Doesn't mean they dont hate losing. Are there times where seeing players laugh on the becnh when the team is losing make is "appear" like they aren't taking things seriously? I guess, but the key word there is "appear" I told a joke at work today while everyone was working to ease the tension and get everyone to ligthen up. OMG !!! How dare I?! The fact that I wan't 100% dedicated to my tasks for 7.50 hours EXACTLY leaving zero room for anything that isnt super serious? f*** me... fire me now. I should be going home every night comepletely me ntally exhausted trying to figure out how I can be the perfect robot tomorrow. Otherwise i just dont hate not being pruductive enough. You are making these connections and assumptions based on appearances. Yes, Schneider has stated publicly after a game that VLad needed to hustle better in that game situation. Excellent. Seems that Schneider has a pretty good handle on that then doesn't it? Equating EVERY single non 100% effort play or laughter in the dugout to not hating losing is just assumptions. And ya know what happens when you make assumptions? You are an "ass" and the "ump" will "tion" you. Or something like that.

Check out Arber Xhekaj, ragdolled Zack Kassian in a fight. Fun fact about the kid, his nickname is "Wifi" because his last name looks like a random generated password.
  23. Bowling balls dont really have peaks, just rounded spots at higher elevation.
  24. You keep creating these things that I seem to think...
  25. I dont even care abotu clowning around on the bench, but i do care about running out plays more often. There's certain times where yeah, hit a 100 mph grounder straight at the SS... yeah you know youre out, I'm pretty okay with a non 100% effort there. But on any potential double play scenario or where the fielders are legit havnig to scramble to get the ball and will be throwing off balance... get your fat ass up the line as fast you can.
