  1. Not a bad ranking honestly.
  2. The first positive sign is that the cutter is gone. Second positive signed is the usage of the change is up 3rd positive sign is the pitch mix is much more even overall. Now adding his curve back in occasionally too it looks like.
  3. Thornton nicely keeping himself in "in case of a bus crash" depth status
  4. Ive neever seen this "sweeper" designation on a pitch until yesterday when Tiedemann was throwing his slider, now Thornton's is also coming up as a sweeper.
  5. Here comes Thornton, get the gloves in the OF bleachers ready
  6. Holy s*** his dude Duran is throwing gas. 101-103.1 with the 4 seamer.
  7. Manoah 45 pitches, 3.1 IP, 1 ER on 3 hits, no walks and 4K.
  8. Damn, just overmatched there
  9. Jays have something cooking here with 2 outs. Nunez needs to come through.
  10. WBC has interesting pitcher limit rules too to ensure the pros dont get over-used. Maximum 65 pitches per game during Pool Play. Maximum 80 pitches per game during the Quarterfinal Round. Maximum 95 pitches per game during the Championship Round. Minimum four days of rest after a 50-pitch outing. Minimum one day of rest after a 30-pitch outing. No pitching back-to-back-to-back days at any point.
  11. Kikuchi's raw data from yesterdays outing: And Tiedemann
  12. Bush party!
  13. Ya know what’s interesting, Cal Ripken Jr never missed a game for nearly 17 season straight, but also never played 162 games in a season for more than 3 seasons in a row.
  14. I definitely get the argument against Wells for the lack of playoff appearances or any kind of standout individual moment, but I think his overall numbers merit the Level of Excellence. I can’t hold it against him that he was offered a massive deal, or that none of the teams he played on made the playoffs when no single player is ever responsible for getting a team there, or winning if you get there. Playoffs and World Series are a team achievement, not a single player achievement. I guess my point is, if the guy who’s 2nd place on virtually every Jays all time stat for hitters can’t be on the Level of Excellence, that’s a pretty high bar. Nor am I saying to fly the doors open and let anyone with X number of “insert stats here” get in either.
  15. "Oh I hope that was mostly helmet OH NO that's blood...."
  16. Vernon Wells, as stated in that other thread. Hes at or near the top of all the important counting stats for hitters as a Jay, ahead of guys that are already up there. He is second all-time for the Blue Jays in career hits, doubles, runs, RBI and total bases, and fourth in home runs. He was a huge fan favorite while he was here, and despite underperforming after signing the big contract, he did bounce back and put up nearly 4 fWAR in his final season as a Jay before AA managed to deal him to the Angels. 3 Gold Gloves, 1 silver Slugger. 3 time All Star as a Jay.
  17. Speaking of Bautista getting up on the Level of Excellence, isn't a bit overdue for Vernon Wells to be up there? In terms of Games, HR, RBI, runs... Wells ranks 3rd, 4th, 2nd and 3rd.
  18. Hopefully, i dont think he's pitched since Feb 28th in a game. Might have thrown in a sim game or something though
  19. Whit Merrifield was out of games since Friday with quad tightness. Not considered serious and he did do full workouts on Saturday. Jays being ultra cautious, nothing to be worried about for him to be ready for opening day.
  20. He’s 20, so probably not for another 5 years.
  21. On the broadcast today they mentioned that Bassitt is intentionally throwing with less velo right now because he prefers to build up to his max by the end of spring training. The velo drop is intentional.
  22. $1.5MM in guaranteed money, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post Up to $2.5MM in bonus money is also available, related to incentives based on total appearances and games finished, indicating that Smith might indeed get some consideration for a closer role. Rosenthal just signed also, going to the Tigers on a minor league deal. 2 million if he makes the big club and up to 2 million more in incentives.
  23. Wow, absolutely perfect throw by Jansen.
  24. And there it is, uncontested lol.
