  1. It's an unfortunate situation for sure. But the WBC will always be in the spring. It's in the perfect place after the Super Bowl and before the MLB regular season when people who are baseball fans are craving baseball content. They'll never move it to being in season because that would be terrible. Moving it to the end of the season would basically ensure that 0 pro pitchers ever show up since all their arms would be dead tired by then and they'd be risking all kinds of additional arm injuries depending on when they had shut down. This isn't even a repetitive motion injury, it's a total freak accident that cannot be prevented. s*** happens.
  2. Canada loves baseball, it's just too damn cold for too mnay months in the vast majority of the provinces to have meaningful #'s of kids playing it to a high enough level.
  3. You know how ball players get in little groups and just jump up and down a bit when they win? That's all that was happening and then Diaz was on the ground.
  4. Did he just land on someones foot while they were hopping around?
  5. Its moreso the pitching side than the position player side. Canada could put out a pretty good pitching staff if everyone was healthy and actually wanted to show up. The staff this time around was putrid.
  6. 8 walks issued by Canada's pitchers so far, that's the real tragedy of this game.
  7. You agree with Grant, I agree with Buck. What kind of f***ed up day is this?
  8. Doesnt matter at the end of the day now.
  9. What a gut punch. Ah well, maybe we'll get more than 1 or 2 major leaguers next time around.
  10. Keep the DP in order. even if he gets him the runner gets to scoring position. Had someone on the Red Sox done that and made a bad throw you'd be all over them for trying something so fundamentally wrong.
  11. Or ... do and give up a bases loaded, bases clearing double... great. See you in 4 years I guess.
  12. Maybe don't throw that pitch again
  13. Another walk.... wtf boys Just in time for Aroz to do something good and put the game out of reach.
  14. It's not the right play in a tight ballgame and you know it.
  15. Awe man.... rookie mistakes..
  16. all these walks... my god just make them swing ffs
  17. Angel Hernandez had a banner game the other day, missed like 15 ball/strike calls or something
  18. damn, hanging changeup and couldnt damage it.
  19. Grandpappy was el Mexicano and played in their pro baseball league way back when also. His mother was Jewish so he could also play for Israel.
  20. All good, we got one back, lets shut em down and get back to the top of the lineup
  21. Nice... we live to see another inning.
  22. another walk... ffs That as a ballsy pitch though that could have been called a swing. He held up though. Whitt has to make his move, Albers needs to clutch up and get Verdugo
  23. I have so much faith in Aumont vs Arozarena.
  24. 4 pitch walk to a nobody... good lord.
