    Yeah the only way they could is if they sign Rutschman and a few others to really team friendly deals to possibly allow a free agent signing or two. And lets not forget Adley Rutschman is already 25 yeards old, it's not like he's 21 or 22 in his 2nd year in the bigs.

    Virtually any team that's been crap for the last 6 seasons will have some great young talent in the pipeline. Last time they did this it was a 14 year run of crap, followed by a 5 year window of being decent, then back to 6 years of crap.

    No doubt. It's just introducing another wrinkle into the stable of arms. I really dont think a 6 man rotation is ideal... and if the rotation has sorted itself out AND is fully healthy, Ryu just doesn't fit anywhere. He'd basically be a 20 million dollar long man out of the pen.

    Pretty much correct. At best they're gonna get 2 months + any playoff games out of Green. Lets also not forget Ryu is probably coming back along roughly the same timeline.

    SSS variance. DRS has Teo at 5 runs saved, Varsho at 4. OAA has Teo as 1 out above average, Varsho at 0. Right now the numbers suggest Teo is the 2nd best RF in MLB defensively. I think we all know that's not the case.

Pearson is set to join the Blue Jays in Toronto on Monday and could be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo ahead of the big club's series opener versus the White Sox, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports. The Blue Jays appear to have abandoned developing Pearson as a starter due to injuries having cost him extensive time in each of the previous three seasons, but the power right-hander still possesses the type of premium velocity that could make him a major weapon near the back end of the bullpen. He's flashed that potential thus far at Buffalo, pitching to a 2.16 ERA and 16:5 K:BB across 8.1 innings over his eight appearances. Once he's formally activated, Pearson could start out in a lower-leverage role out of the bullpen, but it's not difficult to envision him emerging as one of the top setup men for closer Jordan Romano if he can stay healthy and keep his free passes in check.

    The other lefty option for cleanup would be Belt. Though I tend to agree that Varsho shouldn’t be hitting cleanup. I see him more in the 6 spot

    Love the story, but it’s doubtful this guy with a lifetime .696 OPS in the minors is going to be relevant in any way. 45 HR in 13 minor league seasons. Must be good defensively to last this long with a pool noodle bat
