  1. Love probably isnt the right word, but it sure is hard not to respect the hell out an organization that gets the results they do with far less resources at their disposal than other teams. Whatever system they have, they are always 2 steps ahead of every other org in MLB. Look at what they have done with Springs, taking a middling reliever who walks the planet to 2/3 starter who looks nearly unhittable. And if it was just one guy, sure, you'd just chalk it up to blind luck, but they seem to do this every f***ing year with someone, whether it's a pitcher castoff that turns into an ace, some s***** minor leaguer that turns into a legit back end pen arm, or a journeyman shitstick that suddenly hits 30+ bombs out of nowhere.
  2. I hate that I love the Rays...
  3. I disagree that Pop has the stuff to be a high leverage guy, he can't miss bats nearly well enough to be a high leverage arm. Pop could be an excellent multi-inning guy though that limits hard contact, but when he's on the hill, there's going to be balls put into play. he's certainly not a guy I want to bring in with runners on base.
  4. Yeah, not exactly a super crop is there. Third Basemen Ehire Adrianza (34) Brian Anderson (31) Jeimer Candelario (30) Matt Chapman (31) Charlie Culberson (35) Josh Donaldson (38) – $16MM club option with an $8MM buyout* Eduardo Escobar (35) – $9MM club option with a $500K buyout Evan Longoria (38) Mike Moustakas (35) – $20MM club option with a $4MM buyout* Max Muncy (33) – $10MM club option Justin Turner (39) – $13.4MM player option with a $6.7MM buyout* Gio Urshela (32) Joey Wendle (34)
  5. Yes, they were testing the roof a few weeks ago already
  6. He's been a beauty, but when you look at the numbers, it's easy to see why. He's not whiffing on pitches in the strike zone like he has been the past few seasons and in fact is contacting them at a career-best rate. Highly unlikely for that to continue, but even if he's at 80-85% that's money in the bank.
  7. It's easy to just point and say the pen isnt good enough, but as with most things, context is important. I'll just post the entire pitching staff's #'s so far. That's over 36 innings in 10 games for the pen, which isn't ideal. 6 innings alone for Cimber, and 5 guys with 5 or more. Keeping that up over a full season would be less than ideal, but when yove had 5 of the 10 game where your starter gets wrecked (Kikuchi x 1, Manoah x 1, Berrios x2 and Bassit x 1) the pen is going to take some lumps.
  8. No no, he should keep using it. Like…lots more
  9. Kinda the same feeling of the road trip overall. 6-4 or 7-3 was about what you’d expect with the schedule they had. Angels series(2-1) and KC series(3-1) was exactly what should have happened, the only flip would have been winning the series against St. Louis to get to 7-3. No Jays fan should really be upset at the results of the road trip, but yeah…the path that got them there could use work.
  10. The thing that’s most impressive is that out of all their wins, every single one has been by 4 runs or more. yes, they should beat those teams but baseball will usually curse you for 1 or 2 games out of 9.
  11. Couldn’t catch the rest of the game after the 2nd inning, did I miss anything exciting?
  12. Here’s the vid on the Cruz injury https://www.mlb.com/news/benches-clear-after-oneil-cruz-injury-vs-white-sox
  13. ONeil Cruz just broke his ankle on a play at the plate. Reallly bad slide attempt and it went horribly wrong, and allegedly the catcher called him a bitch after the play and the benches cleared.
  14. Heh, Trout was clearly sitting on the slider, good thing it was just a single.
  15. Cy Detmers today I guess.
  16. I hear ya, mine was July and I’m so white I’m practically clear.
  17. I think it’s more so that Kiermaier and Varsho are hot right now and wants to keep great D in CF and LF today. Plus he is platooning Espinal even though he’s been awful with the stick to start out.
  18. http://i.imgur.com/jf9G61s.png Not a good day for blue. Also important to mention that the call right above the #2 called strike three to Belt, was the strike 1 call to Belt in the same AB.
  19. April 8 Vladdy - 2 Points - Abomination, Candy Maldonado, JaysAllMighty, LTBF Bichette - 2 Points Belt - 4 Points -Spanky Varsho - 4 Points - WryNGinger Kirk - 4 Points Springer - 4 Points - Jonn, Dylan, JohnHavok Chapman - 4 Points - TCA, Bones10, Omar Merrifield - 10 Points - Stangstag, Sammy225 Espinal - 12 Points Off the bench: 20 Points
  20. Nah, they’ve had the easiest schedule ever to start. Them being unbeaten is great for them but I figured they’d start 7-2 at worst.
  21. The game I saw there I was down the 1b side in the bleachers, great seats but yeah, cooked all game long.
  22. Another steamroll of Tampa over Oakland…11-0
