  1. Will be interesting to say the least. Just wondering how he's going to frame this without throwing his entire team under the bus.
  2. Just checked his draft weight... 6'7' 250 pounds. Though he really didnt start declining until age 32. All the years from 2001-2012 were pretty outstanding, even as he gained weight. At that point he was listed at 300 and then had the knee surgery in 2013. But didn't even truly suck until after that. So, while he didnt get worse while gaining the weight, there's probably some sound logic to the fact that had he not been so heavy, his knee would have held up better, maybe not requiring surgery. Also, depsite losing a bunch of weight after the surgery to try and aid in recovery and put less pressure on that knee, he was still just a really big dude. So he didnt really get worse from the weight gain, until his knee gave out.
  3. True, but Bartolo could probably still pitch today and he's like 50 years old, weighs 300+ and isnt even 6 feet tall. I think the general rule that being in shape is probably better than not being in shape(duh.. ), but at the same time we shouldn't just jump to the conclusion that all of his problems are 100% related to the weight.
  4. WTF is this... connorp being the voice of reason?
  5. Not even sure how a number could be arrived at accurately, but .. sure doesnt look very promising based on this one legit shelling that's for sure.
  6. If nothing else, this. athletes all have to a bit on the confident side or theyd never get to the level they get to, but yeah, right now he can't walk the walk
  7. June 27 Bichette - 1 Point Vladdy 1 Point Varsho - 2 Points Springer - 2 Points - JaysAllMighty Belt - 3 Points - Dylan, John_Havok Chapman - 3 Points - Omar Jansen - 3 Points - Spanky Biggio - 5 Points - wilko, WryNGinger Merrifield - 6 Points Off the bench: 10 Points
  8. Please point to the place where I called you retarded. I called you intellectually lazy, not edgy, uncool, and suggested you might be a hypocrite douchebag, but nowhere did I call you retarded. If you can't even keep a basic understanding of how you're being insulted, I'm sure I'd lose you with further discourse

  10. Yeah he was a bit late to the party.
  11. Yup, winded after the first pitch of every game. Makes complete sense. Not a single flaw in that theory. Rock solid.
  12. Great. so that must be THE one and only problem. Can't be anything else, just the one visible flaw that it's easy to poke fun about. Im not claiming to be an expert either, I'm just saying you're intellectually lazy and nowhere near as edgy and cool as you think you are, and if you were in a room with Manoah you wouldnt say stit to his face about it either, so youre also probably a hypocrit douchebag with no spine. Psychologically spekaing of course.
  13. I love watching the unnecessary piling on from all the "experts" .. i mean, if only anyone from the Jays just surfed this forum for a few minutes a day, they'd have all the Jays problems solved in seconds.
  14. Well it makes sense, bigger guys can hide a lot of muscle mass under their fat. But the statement is still specualtion to a degree.
  15. Has anyone tried telling him he should start breathing through his eyelids like the lava lizards of the Galapagos?
  16. Somehow still treading water despite their entire team hitting under .200 in June and having a team wRC+ of 69
  17. MLB in person attendance is up 8% so far in 2023 vs 2022.
  18. I dont think they should either, but given their money constraints, it's only a matter of time.
  19. It's fine to prefer one over the other, but id prefer people do so while making actual points. AA had several strengths, but also left the entire system gutted and the roster aged and declining. He pushed the chips in, and ultimately failed. All of AA's credit was building up the system to the point where he could go all in. He was also great at gaming the Comp A and B system when it was still around which one could argue was alrgely responsible for having such a full system. Getting 2-4 extra picks in the top 2-3 rounds never hurts. I dont even know why people bitch about Shapiro when it comes to team and roster, he has nearly nothing to do with that. Shapiro is probably the best front office guy the Jays could hope to have right now to do what they need doing from a business and Rogers Center building perspective.
  20. True. I was thinking along the lines of whether Milwaukee will want to pony up for both Woodruff and Burnes for another season with both headed for FA after 2024. One or both might be on the way out for max return. This assumes Woodruff returns to the lineup and puitches well in teh few starts he might get prior to the deadline. Or Milwaukee could see the Central as winnable (which it is...), opt to tweak a bit and revisit the trade possibility in the offseason.
  21. Guess im lucky, I mainly see ads for A&Ws new frozen root beer.
  22. This deadline is going to be weird. Some teams that should definitely sell, won't... and some that should definitely buy... won't. It seems like a gridlock deadline to me
  23. I would gladly refute his statment, point by point, except he never made a point. Just random bitching
  24. AL WC teams are Baltimore, Yankees and Toronto. AL East is the hardest division in pro sports right now
  25. I dont think much of the Twins offense.. pen is middle of the road, but their front end of the pitching staff can shut any team down. Kind of the opposite of the Orioles where they have the offense, but the SP lacks - but the back end of the BP is lights out and good night.
