  1. Probably just trying to give KK as many extra days off as they can due to his health always being a possible question mark
  2. Correct. they can option anyone up to 5 times per season and it would count as burning 1 option year whether they optioned him once or 5 times.
  3. Results are one thing, but I’ll be looking at how the results happen. If he’s constantly losing his 4 seamer up and away and still not location the slider in the zone when he wants to…and still throwing brutal changeups and he’s still walking the planet, then it’s a waste even if he ends up not letting in very many runs. You can bet the Tigers will be taking a lot of pitches.
  4. Meh, history records 3 FB outs. No sweat. 3 cans of corn.
  5. I know people always remember history more fondly than it actually was... but the two teams are not that far apart.
  6. Of course, I just find it boring to discuss whatever "tweak" trade they're going to end up doing...I'd rather discuss wild hypotheticals that could actually make impact, no matter how wild. Kinda like it's way more fun to talk about a hypothetical Ohtani trade rather than knowing Moreno is getting a comp pick and nothing more.
  7. Yeah, I think the Jays could swing the trade without including both Tiedemann and Orelvis, but then again i think if they really wanted to go all in...get Giolito and Robert, give them whatever they ask for, get a couple relief arms somewhere and then let the chips fall where they may. In that sense he would basically be repeating AAs last season by further gutting the system, but would still have multiple years of window left rather than everyone being a rental.
  8. What do you figure it would cost…even assuming Chicago would move him…which I doubt…but just for kicks
  9. Vald outthinks himself so much at the plate... he was 100% thinking he was getting a slider. Wasn't ready for the fastball
  10. Uh oh.. a called stirke. He's definitely swigning at the next one now
  11. Death .. taxes... and Vlad swinging at the first pitch of the PA with any runner in scoring position no matter where it is.
  12. I have no problem with using Richards when they did, it looks like the plan is to pitch him for 3 innings anyways so why not.
  13. No s***. First pitch was pinpoint but then the next two weren't even close. Must be impeccable tunnelling i guess. But with Gravemans pitches you should have a pretty good clue that if the pitch starts in the zone on the outre half.. its a slider and will finish outside. If it starts outside... it's probably a sinker/2seamer and will either miss outside or be something you dont want to swing at anyways. The plan on him should be taking until 2 strikes and then take your chances. The only way you get a pitch to hit is if it starts down this middle.
  14. That's some prime Jays 2023 luck right there. 2 bang bang plays in a row where the call on the field is out, overturned on review lol
  15. WOw, that was close and looked safe again
  16. Biggio has gone back to his passive plate strategy.
  17. Lynn is a good pitcher. Just like prime Mark Buerhle was. Now it's just his consistency at this point in his career that holds him back, but he'll still through the occasional game like today when everything is pinpoint. He loses even one more iota of control though and he's probably done.
  18. It's one of the things that is a big concern with using ABS at the MLB level. MLB wants the people watching to know the overlayed strike zone is the same one ABS is using. inside and outside is pretty much perfect on TV but the up and down is not.
  19. Keep telling you guys, dont trust the High and low on the TV strike zone. It's bad.
  20. KK and Varsho have the exact same hole in their respective swings.
  21. Wow, Kirk flew way open there and pulled so far off that pitch ... his timing is a mess.
  22. I emailed him. He wants that guy to send his resume in for the open hitting coach position. Feels he has a great grasp on... stuff.
