    On field product still matters, just look at a history of the attendance and cross reference with their record. Maybe the renovations will help stem the fans apathy in the future, but we don't know that for sure yet. Generally, the attendance spikes in the 1-2 seasons after a major playoff run, then drops right off again during the rebuilds, then creeps back up as their record gets better, as one would expect.

    This. Even had the Jays added a RH power threat for the bench, if the rest of what you said doesn’t happen, especially concerning Vlad and Springer, that bat doesn’t matter

    Varsho is easily the better LF defender, DeJong is the best IF, so having those two in would be best defensively.

    It's just a simple platoon situation. Varsho and KK still play the OF vs RHP, Whit and 2b. Vs lefties, Whit goes the left and DeJong plays second, Varsho sits more often, but will probably get the occasional look in CF if KK needs a day.

    I don't get why Cleveland just traded their best performing starter when they are 1/2 a game out of the division lead. Cleveland gonna Cleveland I guess.

    I could take or leave France. Hard to fit him in the current lineup and really see where he makes much a difference without breaking something else.

    Yeah 23-11 in games that are either 1 run, or extra innings. Jays... 20-14.

    Seattle is apparently listening on Sewald, Teo and France. A guy can dream and I have no idea what it take to land Sewald, but... dreaming of the back end of a pen with vintage Green, and current Sewald, Romano and Hicks makes my pants get about 2 sizes smaller. Hell, the front of our pen would be Swanson, Jimi, Richards and Mayza. That's gross.

    It's probably very unlikely though. Raleigh still has 4 years of control left. They want to be sure 100% that Ford is MLB ready. My guess is they keep Raleigh around and bring up Ford and run a tandem like the Jays do with Jansen and Kirk for at least a full season and then decide what to do after that. Catchers tend to get hurt too.

    Orelvis with a 3-run bomb today 410 feet. He was 1-4. With 2Ks. Barger, 1-4, BB Horowitz 2-3, BB, K Schneider 1-3, 2BB Clement 3-5 with a HR and a double. Hatch gave up 5 ER in 1.1, polishing up his DFA resume

    So….when Green and Ryu get activated, who gets the DFA punt now? Hatch and…..which of Danner, Zulu and Francis? Easy to manage the options, Pearson and either Cabrera or Jackson would have to go down.

    True. An extension to hicks makes the price much more palatable. I doubt it happens though, Hicks would be nuts not to test free agency.

    Yeah. Plus the rotation is still okay for 2024. Gausman, Berrios, Bassitt, Kooch and Manoah + Tiedemann as the first layer of depth. I don’t like the trade in a vacuum but it’s not egregious.

    If 2 non roster guys are the return for Hicks, they’d still have to DFA someone right?

    My guess is Kloff and a guy like Connor cooke Robertson landed a AA starter and a AA reliever, this return is probably similar
