  1. Why is it crazy? When you suck for years, your first pick is top 1 or two for a few of them AND you get all the bonus picks from being a small market, you're bound to hit a bingo at some point paying nearly your entire meaningful roster league minimum. Couple that with cheap owners having Chris Davis contract nightmares and you end up with your highest paid player being Kyle Gibson
  2. Was just watching the game replay and holy f*** that rant can be summarized in about 4 words..."get off my lawn"
  3. But, to be fair, if every baseball players future was easily predicted by their first ~80 PAs, there would be a ton of different names in the MLB history books and many that wouldn't be there at all.
  4. Quite the contrary, I find it rather uplifting
  5. Schneider does have a good approach. But he also does have a high whiff rate and K rate. It’s fine as is as long as he keeps hitting for power though
  6. He also swung through a bunch of high pitches recently. Seems he can handle the high ones if they're under 95, mucho trouble above 95. He also knows his weakness and works on it daily and so far seems pretty quick to adjust. I'd probably take the over on 600 career PAs
  7. Ya think? Seriously though, not trying to be a dick. Is the changeup something that a lot of Quad A guys have a good feel for? I wonder.
  8. Quick to anger. Another element of psychosis.
  9. one pitch type the buffalo guys have been struggling with is that changeup. I doubt they see many quality changeups in AAA
  10. Of all the things Vlad does to annoy you, that is one of them? That's bordering on psychosis.
  11. Something I just noticed... i get that pete walker would cover his mouth while on the mound during a meeting, but the interpreter doing it is kinda funny. LIke, even if there was someone who could read lips in English on the A's bench, I sure doubt there's one who can lip read Korean.
  12. nah, first replay angle showed his foot down before the ball got there. Ball took a sideways spin hop on Clement though, unlucky.
  13. That was one terrible decision by Vlad that paid off.
  14. yeah, all these domestic assault issues are really giving the sport a black eye.
  15. Just stop taking these gambles against lefty starters... you're on first, just let Heineman try to do something before the lineup turns over. I kinda get the gamble though, even if youre out, Heineman is the 9 hitter and its not like youd expect him to do much very often, taking a risk is kinda defensible. Just... not against a lefty where your odds of success are that much lower.
  16. And dont forget one was an incredibly legitimate all star who 100% deserved to be there.
  17. Yeah, but Of defense wasnt the only thing they were trying to improve. Baserunning was also a needed area of upgrade and both Teo and LGJ were boneheads on the bases. Having those 2 along with Vlad running into multiple outs every week just wasn't going to work, along with Kirk's tortoise speed was 4 guys out of 9 who couldnt be relied on to do anything productive while "running" Now, along with the improved D, theyre down to 2 out of 9 being unreliable, and only 1 out of 9 if Kirk is sitting, though that number might be different depending on how the Buffalo boys grade out. Im not expecting much from Horwitz but Schneider and Clement should be average or better. McCoy as well in his limited action
  18. day game after a night game, I doubt Kirk was ever going to be playing this one.
  19. According to Rosenthlal, Chapman turned down 10 years/150 million after the 2019 season which, at the time would have covered 4 years of team control and 6 FA years. That takes a bit of balls for sure.
  20. Altuve had 3 HRs before the Rangers 7,8 and 9 hitters even had their first PA of the game.
  21. The playoffs are getting to be more comfortable in thinking they might not be easy to fail at making.
  22. Yeah, I’m okay with Bassitt coming out now. But let Francis clean up, no need to burn Mayza
