He defected to Mexico from Cuba and has absolutely zero ancestry or history there. Some of these connections in the WBC are pretty dubious.

I'm not saying it's biased or anything, but the umpiring has been truly awful in this WBC. It almost makes you appreciate MLB umpiring.

Urquidy not looking very good at all. It would be really nice to light him up, their bullpen is a bunch of minor league and semi retired guys like ours.

I'm a little surprised that Tyler Black isn't there, but it's possible he just didn't make the roster. Votto gets a pass from me, I'm not sure he's completely healthy and he has always been a steadfast contributor.

Players in the DR and Japan will get roasted in the media if they don't participate. It's important for the fans and players.

Soccer players make more and they care. Hockey players certainly care. I care. Don't watch if you don't care.

I don't understand why you are watching or commenting if you don't care about these baseball games. That's just fine, go to bed or watch something else. I do care and I want the players to care about their country. Just leave it at that.

I'd like to see public criticism of those that didn't care enough to play. You see it in other sports and it puts pressure on them.

I hope that Nick Pivetta, James Taillon, Zach Pop, Mike Soroka, Jordan Romano, et al. are watching this and absolutely ashamed of themselves. They should be.
