  1. The runner was standing on first base when he got hit, which is exactly what Teo should have expected when he made the throw. Part of the blame lies with Ty France for not getting in a better position for the relay but I agree with TCA that it was a bad throw.
  2. There is a point. First of all, you're referencing old rankings that include players who aren't prospects anymore (Casas, Bello). Look at MLB.com's top 30 for an updated list. I also didn't say that they had a bottom 5 system. I said that they were in the conversation without Mayer, due to their lack of depth. Finally, I said that their pitching prospects were awful which you just said was wrong, but you haven't been able to defend your position. I think we can conclude that you just glanced at rankings, but really have no idea, and that Laika and I have it right.
  3. Mata looks brutal so far with 15 walks in 14 innings, which has always been his problem. Walter is almost 27 and hardly dominating. He's their number 7 prospect on mlb.com and really similar to Bowden Francis, who doesn't appear in our top 30. Those are the only pitchers in the top 10. I don't know that I've ever seen such a poor farm system in terms of pitching.
  4. You're not even willing to have a debate. You think you are right? Let's discuss their prospects. I'm ready and willing to debate.
  5. I just realized the Leafs are playing. That's why the thread is so dead.
  6. So you disagree, but don't have anything the least bit constructive to add. Got it. Which pitchers do you think can help them? Do you somehow like their depth or is your assessment based purely on loving Mayer and Raffaela?
  7. I'm sorry, but what exactly do you disagree with and why?
  8. I'm struggling to come up with a name that isn't Ubaldo Jimenez.
  9. Back tightness is about the best we could have hoped for with Bassitt.
  10. I disagree. Mayer is a stud, but they are in the conversation for worst farm in the big leagues without him. The pitching is certainly the worst by a significant margin. Their talent level falls off a cliff after the top 5.
  11. Nicely done Varsho. Big run out there.
  12. They have a team ERA over 5, Josh Winckowski is their second best pitcher, and they don't have a pitcher who even projects as a back end starter. Adam Macko would-be their best guy easily, for reference.
  13. Biggio always knows the zone better than the umps. He would be behind the plate after his career.
  14. I'd expect him to just take everything, the guy is a bit wild.
  15. It's true, but they don't allow human-insect marriages yet. I'll continue protesting in Ottawa.
  16. She's actually a cricket, but you got the right Order. We make beautiful music with my tuba.
  17. I seriously just said to my girlfriend: "Cavan is going to hit a home run here"
  18. Was that Chris Bassitt or Greg Maddux?
  19. I'd go with 4th place. Boston will absolutely tank, their pitching is horrendous.
  20. I'm always shocked to see that Elvis Andrus is still on a roster.
  21. That might be the fastest inning I've ever seen.
