  1. If we want a steady defensive option with some upside, how about Brian Roberts? I can't imagine the price being more than 5 million. The speed is no longer there and the injury risk is high but he'll make the plays in the field and get on base.
  2. The poor defense would kill us.
  3. With the signing of Cano, the Mariners have quite a logjam in the middle infield that could be exploited by Anthopoulos. They now have Ackley, Franklin, Miller, and Bloomquist to fill out the shortstop and backup IF role. In addition, they have prospect Carlos Triunfel almost ready to step in. Both Ackley and Franklin would be nice upgrades with potential and control. The Mariners are known to be looking for a 1B upgrade (Lind) and relief help (perhaps Janssen or Cecil) so we match up decently. It could be a nice opportunity to improve a weakness with a strength and also reduce payroll to accommodate a guy like Anderson.
  4. This might end up being the worst sub-100 mil contract of the offseason. Ridiculous
  5. What were the Brewers thinking here?
  6. The only teans I am concerned with are our division and Texas or Oakland. KC and Cleveland won't win 90 games.
  7. When I last looked at the standings, we were double digit games out of a playoff spot and things were looking bleak. However, with New York and Texas on respective 4 and 5 game losing streaks, things are looking a lot better now. With a win tomorrow, we could be as little as 5.5 games out. As bad as the season has been so far, that's actually quite manageable given the amount of time we have left. Hopefully the pitching can keep rolling, because that's what is going to make our recent good play sustainable. Reyes is going to be an absolutely massive boost as well.
  8. Me too, but I still hesitated to pick him up. He's pretty much my ace now after a ridiculous amount of injuries, as sad as that is.
  9. Rick Porcello has 56 K's in his last 57 innings (9 starts, 11 walks, 2.84 ERA). What happened to the lowest K guy for the last few years?
  10. Zack Cox
  11. Absolutely. He's been destroying AAA pitching. Between him and Wacha, my rookie gambles are paying off. Hope Gibson and Yelich do the same. It's hard to believe the good prospects that have been available with that new roster spot.
  12. Crossups are the pitcher's fault most of the time. Why hate on JP for something that you know isn't his fault? This CI is his fault I guess though.
  13. He can be sent down and called up as we please as far as I know.
  14. I'd be surprised if there are no injuries and Kawasaki doesn't get optioned to AAA. The guy has a .259 career slugging percentage no matter how much we like his personality.
  15. Yeah, so can I.
  16. I bet the players would get a good laugh out of this idiotic conjecture.
  17. I guess that's why his two biggest disciples, Bautista and EE have very good walk rates and why Murphy himself was the definition of a walk machine. I believe he was a league leader a couple of times, or at least very close. Hard to believe you are still so hung up on one meaningless statement.
  18. I think some sort of badge to recognize 10k+ posts or whatever on the old board would be cool, but it's not a big deal.
