  1. That's all conjecture. Do you have any real evidence to back that up? I could just as easily say the opposite. Cliff Pennington is 4-9 with a bomb against Wade Davis and Josh Donaldson is 2-29 (.087) against Jason Vargas.
  2. Estrada is great, but you need to bring back George!
  3. That's a virtual coin flip in both games. I like our chances better than that with Price and Stroman. We haven't had trouble with Ventura or Cueto either.
  4. What's with you being such a jackass to everyone who points that out? You ignored it when I proved you wrong the last time, so I'll do it again. Approximately 25% fewer runs are scored in the playoffs. That's not debatable. The reason is increased innings from top pitchers, but that still leaves us with the fact that pitching is better in the postseason.
  5. Any player we didn't have before September 1st isn't eligible no matter what.
  6. I think I'd go with Stroman. You could give Price the ball again for a short start in game 7 and probably get a couple of innings from Estrada on his throw day if needed.
  7. Darwin Barney wasn't eligible. I don't understand why Venditte would be.
  8. Must have been a fluke when we outscored the Mets 20-8 in a 4 game series this year.
  9. Stupid Royals fans using wins to judge pitchers: http://www.forums.mlb.com/discussions/Kansas_City_Royals/_/_/ml-royals/46777.121
  10. I felt that was the problem with Dickey, too much rest. The more we leaned on him in August and September, the better he performed. If we make it to the WS, I'd have him pump out a bunch of knucklers in a sim game a couple of days before his start.
  11. He throws side sessions. It wasn't his side day.
  12. I really don't think they are, especially the Cubs. Sure the Mets were lucky to sweep, any team would be, but I think they would win this series more often than not if it were replayed. When you can roll out a pitching staff like the Mets, it's pretty overwhelming. Look how good they were with Wright and Cespedes in the lineup. Just as good as we were, which was pretty f***ing incredible. The Cubs pitching just doesn't do it for me. Hendricks and Hammel are junkballers and the 'pen is a bunch of castoffs with mediocre stuff. There's nothing coming in the pipeline either. CJ Edwards lost it this year and got shifted to the 'pen while Pierce Johnson wasn't very good either. In my view, they're going to have to deal a hitter to address that problem or they're going to remain a flawed team that will usually lose to a team like the Mets.
  13. Quit being so salty about the Cubs loss, lol. I'd swear they are more liked than the Jays here.
  14. Yes, a 4 game sweep does make them a better team. That's especially true when you consider the fact that the Mets were the better team after the deadline aquisitions. It's also true that runs scored decrease around 25% in the playoffs, mostly do to the increased use of high level pitching. It's very convenient that you leave out the 4th starters, but if you believe that junkballers like Hendricks and Hammel can compare to the talent of Syndergaard and Matz then you're a fool. I'm using facts to back up my argument, not a bunch of s*** about small ball and playoff experience. Get your head out of the sand.
  15. Hahaha, thanks for the laugh. My opinion was absolutely right, the facts are right in front of you. Pitching dominates in the postseason and the Mets have it in spades. The Cubs had a relatively average strength of schedule, so I'm not sure what you're trying to prove. A division of extremes is no more difficult to play in than a balanced division.
  16. The bullpen will be fine. We need to do what is best for Sanchez and Osuna. Add a couple of arms and it looks fine Brett Cecil Mark Lowe (2/10) Liam Hendriks David Hernandez (1/3) Aaron Loup Oliver Perez (1/4) Bo Schultz
  17. The Mets were far better than the Cubs before this series started in my opinion. Also, that division was only 22 games over .500, which isn't historical by any stretch of the imagination. Heck, the AL East in 2013 was better than that at 28 games over. It wasn't even far behind this year at 14 over.
  18. I would go after both Scott Kazmir and Brett Anderson before I'd offer a bunch of money to Chen. I'd also look into Zimmermann and Samardzija if the price is reasonable, but I suspect that it won't be. Stroman Anderson Dickey Hutchison Latos Osuna/Sanchez That's a pretty solid rotation with good variety and depth if you ask me. Maybe you add a Bud Norris or Rich Hill as insurance, but I'd be pretty happy with one solid SP and a cheaper one year guy like Latos.
  19. Alex Rios: Estrada was the same as game 1, he was just lucky this time. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/video?vid=549071939962
  20. Cubs have had all of the luck in the world this year. I have no sympathy for them.
  21. You're probably right, someone will get desperate. I'm always low on my FA predictions, but the correct predictions sound so stupid to me until they actually happen.
