  1. It's close enough that it doesn't matter.
  2. People still remember Jeffrey Maier for the same play.
  3. Is he better than Revere or Pompey? Perhaps, but I'm not interested if his salary costs us a pitching upgrade.
  4. Nobody in their right mind does, but like 10% of me can understand the umps decision, given the rules in place. What has to happen in replays is the correct call. Why does it matter if the on-field umpire f***ed up? It's a double if the replay ump doesn't know the call on the field. That's the only fair way to do it.
  5. Morneau actually isn't a bad idea. He's got a very big platoon split (200 points of OPS) over 6000 plate appearances and is a plus defender, much like Smoak. His power has dropped off, but the K's have stayed consistently low. With the injury history, he fits in nice with the Colabello insurance too.
  6. I'm on the fence about that. He's been a plus defender for several years, including this year until the shoulder injury. Things went downhill at some point, almost from a mental standpoint. He was getting bad reads and dropping balls, but the range was there. I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him come back as a neutral to plus defender again in 2016.
  7. The same thing happened in the Texas series with Tolleson I think. I was flabbergasted. That is called in the regular season, someone saw it.
  8. A move like that is going to piss off an awful lot of players on a World Series caliber roster. Maybe it doesn't matter, but it's a consideration.
  9. Cop out answer, but somewhere in between. I think he can hit .270 with some pop, but hopefully not in a full-time role. Either way, I think he's on this team in 2016 due to salary and likely lack of a trade market.
  10. I expect Saunders to do a Smoak special and sign for cheap after being non-tendered. I'd be happy with a healthy Saunders backing up and/or platooning with Pompey in LF.
  11. Get the hell out of here. f*** the Royals. Go Mets.
  12. I took statistics in my masters degree and I'm working on a PhD. You think everyone is stupid and you call them arrogant. Ridiculous. Apparently my team came in first place after I handed it over to Spanky, so nice trash talk. You're being the type of person I hate most. Facts right in front of you and just pure f***ing ignorance. Definitely going on the ignore list. What a useless POS.
  13. There's absolutely nothing worse than losing when it isn't decided by the 9 men on the field. Sure they could have done more, but you expect a level playing field. Absolutely gutting. I would have rather lost 10-0 in a legitimate game.
  14. Anything less than 30 minutes and I think he will.
  15. Revere BABIP 2012- .325 2013- .344 2014- .330 2015- .338 What the f*** are you smoking? That's one of the stupidest things I have ever read. Revere also had a better K/BB and posted the highest ISO of his career. There's simply no good reason to project him to fall off a cliff when he's 27 years old and healthy.
  16. Laughing always matters more than cold hard facts. Sorry, you're right. I'm off to join the Westboro Baptist Church, thanks for the advice.
  17. He's averaged 1.9 WAR over the past 4 seasons, one of them injury shortened. That's 7 million in surplus value for 2016 alone (give or take a bit based on FA values).
  18. I mean something like Revere + Reid-Foley. Just going with 7 mil/WAR for simplicity, you're talking about 10 million in surplus value for Revere. Ross is harder to peg, but put him at his 3 year average of 3.2 and he's got ~21 million in surplus value over his 2 seasons using some quick arb estimates from MLBTR. I was really just throwing out names, but there's proof that the idea is hardly egregious.
  19. Cain running away from third base into the RF gap, had to to a full turn and fire it in. Martin makes it to third all day there.
  20. Martin has to go to third on that Goins flyball. That mistake cost us a run in my opinion.
  21. f*** right off. Luck dragons are just not on our side.
