    They had to come through against a bunch of replacement level scrubs from Boston's bullpen. I don't know what was more embarrassing; the fact that those are a playoff team's go-to guys, or the fact that the Nats haven't scored more.

    First of all, the total WAR difference is less than 1, so that's probably not true. Second, consider that Ohtani would either have fewer at-bats or would have displaced George Springer for much of the season. Third, he would have been replacing a combination of Ross Stripling and Steven Matz in the rotation, neither of whom are replacement level. This particular team probably wins more games with Vlad in my estimation.

    It was a well deserved HBP and Borucki should be applauded for doing so no matter how many games he gets. Unsportsmanlike conduct is just one of those things that has to be policed on the field. MLB can't punish Kiermaier for being a coward and a liar.

    He's not a third baseman, but a lefty 120 wRC+ bat (if healthy) would be an awfully nice addition.

    Getting Biggio actually healthy and back up in the big leagues would be a huge boon for our playoff chances. He's a difference maker when healthy.
