    The evidence is some paperwork from a shady business operation and testimony from questionable characters who have changed stories. Yes, common sense says they bought steroids but powerful attorneys and the union should tear it to shreds. This appeal will be a lot easier than Braun's.

    No way it happens. How can this hold up on appeal? They passed all their mlb tests. No way an arbitrator can uphold suspensions. MLB can try but it will fail and just create tons of bad press through the postseason. Would be super dumb

    I'm usually two days late to the news. Just seeing Harper told his manager "play me or trade me" this weekend when he was slated to be benched for his 0-18 stretch.. what a self-entitled bastard. They should ship this guy out immediately..somewhere FAR away.. idk, like Canada or something. They should take Gose and Boni and just be happy to rid themselves of that headache and drama:)

    Hey kirk.. you still like Nate Schierholtz? Can prob get him for peanuts and crackerjacks at this point. He's f'd my fantasy team the last couple weeks so I'm kind of sour on him now.

    Do you ever notice how often professional athletes judge either other by how many rings they have? I mean, do they do that because they want to look good from a PR perspective or do a good amount of players really judge like that?

    What's his NTC like if he has one? Toronto has to be listed on like 90% of them when there is one I would guess.

    Although I don't put MM with BH and MT just yet... dude is on the pace to set the ML record !! for doubles in a season at 20yo. Pretty crazy stuff, so attributing lots of BABIP luck to his success is short changing him. Although I'm short it will regress a bit, he's obviously a special player.

    In regards to Lee, time would be better spent dreaming of winning the lottery and banging supermodels. No way he comes here. Jays are no doubt on his no-trade list.

    Sanchez came with some question marks of his own as a rental and was good for a Top 25 guy. I think what many on this board do is try to think of what "fair value" would be for these guys.. you know, for 2 mos+ of a less than ace SP for a playoff run.. but the market doesn't work like that.

    I don't think the trade scenarios are realistic. Garza, given his name especially , probably costs a B+ guy at least. Helps he's given up 2 ER in last 22IP with 23k/5bb. Garza isn't too far from an A.Sanchez, who commanded that There are plenty of teams that will also probably be willing to take on Peavy's contract AND give up a quality prospect+

    A guy like Eric Chavez or Nate Schierholtz might not cost a lot and they fit the bill. Nobody is going to trade for NS as a .900 OPS bat but he could be a solid 2-3 WAR guy with some upside. I would give up a non-essential piece for those guys.

    After around 350 PAs last season OPS'ing around .580, 60 wRC+.. without showing plus defensive skills, he's lucky to be getting any ABs in the bigs... JPA sucks but Thole sucks even worse. If he wants to win some ABs, he needs to make more of his limited appearances. Doesn't deserve an extended showing.

    Yeah and EL was a 3rd overall pic. It's like saying WAS was great for sniffing out Harper's talents. Obviously TAM has a great scouting department but those are two awful examples.

    This is the classic case of like when a sportscaster says: "Player A is a Top 5 player in the league".. yet they say it like every other day about someone different.

    JM isn't even worth a couple pages of discussion. I still like Eric Chavez as an impact bat to pursue. I would like a backend SP to shore up the rotation.. guys like Garza and Nolasco... but SP is traditionally so expensive and prob wont be worth what it costs for those guys.

    I actually wouldn't complain if Jays exposed Izzy to waivers and let someone take on the rest of the deal for hardly anything. Let Kawa split time with Boni or DeRosa.
