  1. I saw Iannetta on the worse list this year in terms of pitch framing I believe.. along with Matt Wieters who I was surpised about because he seems like a stud back there.
  2. My bad. My apologies for thinking you were giving the amateur "game calling" narrative.. should have known better
  3. Well, if you look at it from when he came up I would be inclined to agree. But I looked it up when someone mentioned it on here and JPA is sitting in the middle of the pack for pitch framing this year. So you would be looking at him as a .85 fWAR/500 PA guy.. and again, for $500k that's not a franchise sinker. Up to the other players to step up. As far as his "cERA" having a lot to do with him (I didn't know you guys would go there).. I mean, MB for instance who makes $18m/year and has been around the league is going to let JPA dictate how the game is going to go? He's not going to shake him off whenever he wants?.. Same with JJ and the others.. it's a veteran staff and the gameplan on attacking the hitters is a team effort. Edit: I will admit Im a stats amateur though. I did see JPA in the middle of the pack after thehurl mentioned it but if theres data out there suggesting otherwise, I could be mistaken
  4. Yeah, an upgrade a C would have been good.. but I mean really, when you have a $120m team that goes bust, the worse move they made wasn't sticking with a C somewhere between a starter and replacement level who makes $500k/year. He cant be Public Enemy #1
  5. Well.. I guess ideally I'd like to see him come up as the 2nd C and show 2012 was a thing of the past before taking JPA out of the picture.
  6. I will hop on the troll side and say if Thole is going to come up and put up .230/.290/.320 or something.. I would rather stick with JPA. Need the xbh in the lineup.. even if he moves to the back end of the lineup.
  7. troll bait being tossed out..lol
  8. Unfortunately you have Lawrie, Boni, and Izzy sitting there too.... Kawa and his .280 SLG only makes sense at the #9 hole. Only Rasmus would be his comp with the band of misfits in the lineup the last few days.
  9. Yeah, when some players are back in the mix it will be different. I just meant for now, hitting JPA 5th really isn't terrible managing.. it's an indictment of the current state of the lineup.
  10. Maybe. I'm not a big Rasmus guy though. He's inching towards his .225/.290/.400 mean. Not a place for a #3 guy
  11. The fact shouldn't be lost that the Jays suck so bad that you really have no choice but bat him 5th some nights as GOD AWFUL (and he is bad) as he is. Gose Bats Edwin Lind JPA Lawrie Rasmus Izzy Kawa I mean, Rasmus has the better stick and gets on base more but he's a K machine himself and so is it worth hitting 2 LHB in a row (if Lind 4th, Rasmus 5th)?
  12. Bro.. pull up your big boy underpants. It wasn't that bad.
  13. Yeah JPA is pretty putrid. After showing the power early I was trying to root for him this year to be at least like a .240/.280/520 guy but its not meant to be. Fading to his sucky .710 OPS mean pretty fast
  14. Yeah, there's a wager thread already. I don't think it's on there but I have a $20 bet with BTS on an Ike Davis OPS O/U at .550;) I have the over. Unfortunately he's not quite there yet.. maybe a nice game or two and he can get back in it though.
  15. Kuroda game is the toughest. I like the Jays chances in the next two but I will have to say they probably take 1 of 3. Hoping I'm wrong of course.
  16. I thought thehurl posted that JPA is in the middle of the pack this year?..
  17. Honestly I've always rooted for McGowan but really the Vegas O/U on when he would get shut down again would be like 1 week most likely
  18. I don't really follow hockey but in other sports it can be somewhat understandable as hiding injuries can make strategic sense. Like say if a team in the NFL stays mum on the condition of their QB or RB. It can effect the game planning of opposing teams. Actually that can apply to the NBA too. There's zero strategic benefit though of providing misleading info on roleplayer guys like McGowan, Santos, etc which the Jays have always done. They've given the false Sally Sunshine story too many times for them to get the benefit of the doubt that they're just sharing the info they have at the time and it changes.
  19. Their PR is nonsense. I was excited picking him up in fantasy thinking he was around the corner. Looked real sharp early on. Worst PR in the majors.
  20. When you google "bluejays message board" this link is only a couple down. That was pretty quick. Maybe they should get another domain with "forum" somewhere in it so it can pull up that way too
  21. Im sure its been mentioned, I havent read through all the posts but the old board showed who started a thread. That way if it said "clomero", "lawriegoldglove", etc you could know to ignore it. Like with homeruntrot now.
  22. I dont know. Lind in music would be like a one hit wonder.
  23. I agree with ecjf. Kazmir dealt with a variety of injuries.. This is Ankiel territory for RR. Guaranteed contracts are a beautiful thing.. For guys like RR anyway
