Just saw Kris Bryant got promoted to AAA... I'm not a twitter guy but saw how he prominently featured his gf on it.. so I clicked on hers real quick... anyways, I just was thinking how bad would it suck for her or a girl in the same situation when they got dumped one day...lol... they're on this roller coaster ride and get to ride the coattails of the celeb and get all this attention... then one day the dude is like "later"... I bet said girl would be f'd up for long time.

It's a shame bc that ballpark is really nice. They even have a kids zone (for us parents...lol) where there's multiple stations for the kids to play The Show, hit in the batting cage, and other stuff a couple hours before the game. The surrounding area isn't inviting but I'm just talking about the field and stadium

Here's a question nobody cares about but I'm genuinely curious. You have a guy with a .388obp and a guy with a .400obp say... the first guy's k rate is 4% and the second guy is 17%. Which is preferable? I mean the first guy putting it in play more will move more guys over and get SFs but also chance for DPs. Basically just wondering if a low K rate adds value to a guy's obp or it doesn't really matter.

Gwynn prob got killed in real estate especially. I know when I lived in SD it was a completely unsustainable situaton. Cost of living was nowhere near rate of pay. When real estate prices came crashing down, I think SD saw like a 50% drop in property value.

To Twisted Logic... as I don't want to waste space quoting the War and Peace-style post:) Yeah I agree... this board has becomes pretty stagnant so I thought to go over to the other board some of the time for some fresh conversation but it's unbearable over there with trolling and terrible posters. So you're kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't. To me though, any "new" poster that "unknowingly" decides to present a lightning rod argument (usually anything anti-sabr for instance) is not a future asset to the board. They're obviously a dup account, either of a troll or maybe an active normal poster out for laughs. Honestly that's a good percentage of "newbies" too. I know I'm a pretty easy going guy with different ideas but it can be annoying to see someone that's an obvious dup account being an idiot. It's hard not to question out loud wtf is wrong with the person that they need to get their jollies like that. Idk... I don't pay attention to the main boards a ton so I guess I don't doubt that there's innocent people that get convicted without due process...lol Again, I usually just get irritated with the most blatant instances

Idk.. if you're old school you might see it as trying to boost the kid's confidence as he's been middling along since his last promotion. I know I prob sound like a grandpa but think if you were in his shoes and you get the call that you're going up... it would pump you up. Also another logical explanation would be that they're eager to try and get other coaches to fix his woes.
