    Listen, I thought Vlad and Springer (to a lesser degree Kirk etc) bounce back. Maybe they still do. That’s clearly what the GM thought doubling down by not only objectively not improving the O, but objectively downgrading it. I’m a fan, you homers are a fan, we can be right/wrong and feel good about ourselves if we’re right. But these are guys that’s JOB is to not be wrong. You can’t watch a business go to absolute s***, outside of something like Covid, and be “whoops, didn’t see it going that way”

    Nope. Needed to find an offensive Corner OF and let KK walk. Punting even league average 3b was completely unacceptable for a team that just went into the playoffs limping on offense, and not bounced for the same reason. Most GMs react by improving the roster how they failed there. Jays absolutely doubled down.

    They’d have their hand in every single FA and trade target. This is their team. Ohtani shouldn’t even be talked about. His final choices were all Cali teams. He always had the same plan. 20 teams at least prob sign him to those terms. It was never going to happen. It’s just how the Jays do business in the media. Teams like NYY and Bos would’ve given that deal all day long, they wised up long before the Jays and moved on. Jays staying in it did nothing make dudes like you talk about how close they came and that they really tried

    Not even trolling, I thought Kirk would be good but honestly now I don’t think he’s anything. Not as bad as now but league average nat maybe tiny bit more, worst Bsr in baseball, and I bet the D numbers become a little more realistic

    I mean, of course it’s been talked about to death, but if the franchise really goes belly up, that Varsho trade was undoubtedly the “jump the shark” moment. They were a definite playoff team and their plan to get to the next level, was to collect DWAR and be willing to sacrifice O.
