  1. Yes, bro culture means you’re not a little bitch that blames your problems on someone else. However, point stands that many players aren’t going to think these hitting coaches can help them work through anything. Coaches in any sports can help. It’s just rare they’re going to make a good player bad/bad player good. But they can point things out, go over the mental approach to the AB, going over the pitcher that day. There tangible things they can help with if a player trusts the them.
  2. Sports are a “bro” culture. So more say me, than most of you. Anyways, I can tell you the players are probably openly questioning the hitting coaches. They see what’s going on with Vlad and everyone and it’s natural to do be like: why am I going to spend my time working with these guys. They’re lame ducks and should all be canned. I think it will actually make the players feel more accountable even. Get some fresh eyes in the building. Get guys working at it again. Even if there’s no magic pill a hitting coach might provide, more times than not it’s going to be good getting the player in and working at some things. Even if confidence and such is the thing that comes out of it
  3. Laila’s analysis is lacking as well. There’s a lot of guys coming up from milb, or shuffling between milb. Those are the guys that are likely to work with the coaches the most. Veterans definitely try things out. You’ll hear about adjustments they made when they’re doing good after a slump and you know that help likely came through consultation. Their impact is no doubt going to be very hard to quantify, but anyone that’s gone through grassroots baseball knows they can be useful, generally speaking. However, right or wrong, like any coach is sports, there is accountability and probably a loss of faith from players in the current hitting staff. As there kind of should be with this prolonged slide and no doubt probably many things they suggested that aren’t working. Should fire their asses for sure
  4. You have a Brand going at this point. Is this 1982, that year you didn’t have a prom date? Do you think a guy throwing 95 automatically means he can even play A ball? “Feel for pitching” is exactly what makes someone a pitcher. It’s really that simple. Of course someone throwing 90-92 isn’t going to have the same wiggle room at the mlb level with bbs and missing spots, but velocity without much of else, isn’t any better.
  5. I mean you can say he’s worthless to be able to fix any problems. That’s probably true where he’s worthy of being fired asap
  6. I don’t want to be seen as agreeing with d-bag Brownie, but I guess I kind of am. Listen, these are grown men, mega millionaires in the case of say George Springer. They’re going to listen to the guy for a little bit and then when they’re still doing s*****, they’re going to be like “f*** this guy, he doesn’t know s***”
  7. I know you think you’re clever, but it just comes off as homer ignorant. There’s a difference between a bad stretch and a clear pattern of underperformance. I’m not one of the guys blaming the hitting coach, but this is a dumb comment. Par for the course, but still wanted to point it out. You’re trying too hard here
  8. I’ll troll on stuff like IKF being terrible and the Varsho trade some more when he comes crashing down, etc But the Jays being terrible is just sad. I liked Springer, was huge guy for signing him.. at some point reality kicks in. Vlad, Kirk I liked coming up etc
  9. Look what the cat dragged in. Since when have you chimed in like a Negative Nancy. You starting to break?
  10. That’s a good take for a bad series. 30 games in is something different
  11. I thought you’d think that’s kind of cool, douchebag. Thought you liked a little twisty in your fruit smoothie sometimes
  12. In this Dynasty I’m in, there’s 20 minor league spots, I think 7 rounds for yearly draft. But they open up all players in Fantrax. A bit different. So like some of my prospects are guys like PJ Morlando and Cam Caminiti that play hs ball this year. Then I have a handful of college guys. I guess there’s Pros and Cons in each way of doing it. Maybe takes some of the bite out of drafts I guess, if big players are off the board. But if you’re rebuilding, you can also choose to take a bunch of high ceiling guys in a draft
  13. Jokes aside, I don’t know what to make of Adell as a fantasy asset, but seriously, I can’t say I was pining for O’Neil, but it’s a matter of Jays trying to throw some s*** at the wall that would stick with offense. Angels were almost ready to waive Adell and be done with it. He would’ve cost a bag of peanuts. Jays FO sucks
  14. Dang. Riley back at it today. I wouldn’t do Vlad 1 for 1, but I think Vlad still higher in the rankings. Or maybe not
  15. I guess Eury you could say seems like a very safe bet and so I get that was a big ask. Dudes like James Wood and Walter Jenkins can go bust, or be blah. It’s a tricky business when you’re moving stars
  16. I’ll try it anyway. They’ll know the new guy is just getting a feel of things, hopefully. I already got rejected Seager for: Eury, James Wood, Walter Jenkins, and Roderick Arias. They’ll probably start blocking me too soon
  17. My apologies. Go ahead and rephrase “lose your spine” to “become a little bitch”
  18. Do you have an exact date when you lost your spine, or no? I can at least help you that it’s sometime between your first post here, and now.
  19. Got saddled with Vlad in my new 16-team money dynasty league. As a non Jay kool-aid sipper, can I ask for Riley Greene + Royce Lewis and it’s a fair offer?
  20. I’ve definitely always been a Vlad guy, but I’m of the camp as I’ve seen here, he probably will blossom somewhere else. Not even sure what you’d get for him. Also, Springer looks like a terrible signing. I was big on that signing but us fans opinions doesn’t mean s***, that’s someone’s 7 figure job they’re getting paid for with an army of nerds under them.
  21. Just needs to the learn the game. Not strike out. Take better routes and made better choices on the paths. If some of those NFL linebackers that can’t spell can learn all those complex D assignments, he should be fine.
  22. Well, they said the pants being see through, was noticed back in 2022 and was brought to their attention, but apparently not remedied. Some of other stuff, it’s like you have new sneakers and they look and feel good, but then you notice they don’t hold up. It didn’t make it too far past ST.
  23. Just checked Jo Adells Stacast page and it’s lit. 90% sprint speed, so obviously he needs to pick his spots a lot better. Probably trying to just make too much happen so he can stay on the field. Wish the Jays traded for him. If O’Neil was nothing, Adell probably would’ve cost a pick of gum.
  24. Like New Coke. Or trying new ways to sell beer. Some hipster in Design/marketing decided they knew how to make something that was just fine, better. Mlbpa laid it out.
  25. I wonder which one of you savages will be the first to poach Jo Adell for a nickel on the dollar. That was my Jay trade target. Or they could’ve gotten O’Neil. Nope, theyre like we’re all good. Don’t need Corner OF. Have all the O we need
