  1. Good for you, sounds awesome.
  2. Which AA has already butchered this season. I'm obviously not changing your mind. Good on AA for stockpiling league average players in AAA.
  3. It's actually hilarious. Thankfully we got Albers some innings with his favorite team growing up.
  4. How were Norris and Sanchez fighting for one spot when both were in the rotation? The pen depth was decent. The pen hasn't been that bad. Giving away West and Guilmet speaks more to the FO not knowing what they had, as opposed to assembling good depth. It's funny. The Jays seemingly fluked out putting together depth in the BP, only to tear it down themselves.
  5. North beat me. He's on top of it today.
  6. WAR can be deducted as well. Just because X player has earned it to date doesn't mean they can't drop below that number. We cannot realistically expect Ezequiel Carrera to be a 10 WAR player / 600 AB's (a full season). He has a BABIP of .500 which is impossible to sustain at the ML level. Coupled with the fact he barely walks and is striking out above league average rates, it's easy to see why he will regress. Although not perfect, Navarro loses a lot of his WAR value from framing, which is not incorporated into the WAR number. He's basically a league average bat on the bench, with very little positional value. He's basically a $5M pinch hitter. Santiago was worth 2 WAR five years ago. It's safe to say his best days are behind him.
  7. But isn't what he said true? Stop being a little bitch and have a conversation with someone. He isn't being irrational, his points are valid and you just run from the conversation. It isn't absurd to think that a guy who spent four years at the D1 level didn't receive the same if not better instruction at school than he did in the lower minors. Now at 24, the odds he develops an out pitch that make him a #3 are against him. His Anthony Gose reference wasn't far off. Gose is only ~6 months older than Boyd. If Gose happened to better his plate discipline it's not unreasonable to think he's a 2-3 WAR center fielder.
  8. This is not one of the deepest teams in the league. Ramon Santiago was not the starting second basemen. He's a replacement level player Reyes' "depth" is Ryan Goins. Another replacement level player Smoak is decent depth at 1B Navarro is replacement level Pompey probably should've never made the team. His depth? Ezequiel Carrera. Also replacement level. The only reason Norris was on the team out of ST was because of lack of depth. The Jays are .500 because they have an elite offense built around 5-6 players. Wait and see how bad it is if one of Bautista, EE, Donaldson, Martin or Travis goes down.
  9. Taking the tinted blue glasses off, this team will have to add two starters next year. Stroman SP 1 Hutch SP 2 Norris/Osuna/Boyd/Castro/Hoffman Sanchez to the pen. Stroman may be a legitimate top of the rotation pitcher, but after that the in-house options are pretty bare. I think realistically Hutch is a decent 3/4 in a good rotation. Having a surplus of young guys who could become serviceable starters is nice, but handing them rotation spots and ignoring depth (again) will have the Jays in the same position next year.
  10. Travis (2pts) - Angrioter, CanadianSportsJunkie Donaldson (1pt) - Deadpool Bautista (1pt) - L54 E "f***IN" Rex (1pt) - Spanky99 Martin (2pts) - Jonn, GD Pillar (5pts) -Frenchsoup Carrera (7pts) - Colabello (3pts) - Valencia (6pts) - Smoak (3pts) - Tolleson (7pts) - Goins (7pts) - jays4life19
  11. Nobody tells him any different. Good job Aaron, go get them next time. In all seriousness, it's not the kid's fault they keep sending him out there day after day with almost zero chance to succeed. This is 100% on the FO.
  12. Am I the only one who just saw Dickerson's throw? Just wow.
  13. We should ask somebody if we can just remove the one bad inning or something? I mean other than that, he showed up and helped this team. That's what winners do.
  14. I couldn't imagine being inside your brain. There are literally all these numbers telling you Sanchez suxxx, yet you repeatedly go out on a limb to defend him. Then once a week, he goes out and gets absolutely hammered. It's like a negative feedback loop that doesn't work. Imagine if you didn't learn fire was hot. You would be living a painful life, man.
  15. I can promise you line drives smashed right at you in the opposite field are not easy to catch. But then again, it's easy to catch line drives in your la-z-boy.
  16. lol come on GD, he doesn't understand what you're talking about.
  17. Was really expecting more out of our Halladay/Carpenter hybrid tonight.
  18. I've refrained from calling you out, but holy f*** you're dumb. You do realize that ball was f***ing smashed right? That's where the problem lies; Sanchez either walks the park or gets absolutely hammered.
  19. I have a hard time believing the Rockies accept a deal where Refsnyder isn't the +.
  20. Because we just throw them away. That's why Jonn, that's why.
  21.
