  1. Extend him on a minor league deal? Sure
  2. Pitching gameplan and execution were incredible. Good job, John Schneider. Walking the hurt and struggling .187 hitter to pitch to the .261 hitter that puts everything in play, when a single loses the game for you, was a dumb tactic.
  3. Chad Green is atrocious and he should be the RP7 or they should just cut him
  4. extremely good comp, wish I had thought of it .243 .305 .461 .259 .306 .464
  5. Yeah the actual value of the contract is only $14M per season. They Jays quite literally are not even paying him the market rate for a 2 WAR player over 5 years. I'm sort of expecting him to suck all year but bounce back in 2026.
  6. Pinango is supposed to be a fancy stats guy. Some good data as far as his contact and power go. Doesn't scout well, probably due to his body, maybe he sucks in the OF I dunno. Another weirdo LHB for the lottery bucket, get in on there and say hi to Will Wagner and Alan Roden
  7. Yeah there is another version that is Labatt's branded https://www.ebay.ca/itm/334612079210 Pretty cool print and you're probably right that Labatt's commissioned the illustrations and pumped a few of these out to give people! For $1.99 maybe buy that ^ schedule to go with it!
  8. The image from the left was the illustration used on the program from 1989 https://www.ebay.com/itm/334599792451 For some reason the AI bots tell me that your print/picture may have been a charity item from 1989 when the dome opened. Maybe a JaysCare kind of thing?
  9. Hoffman has a 6.05 ERA and a 1.62 xFIP He has the best xFIP in baseball of everybody with 10+ innings! Last night was f***ed. Threw one good splitter to Walls then hung the rest of them outside to Jankowski, who wanted to leave the bat on his shoulder. Lucky hit by Jansen. Decent contact by Simpson that is a double play with normal defensive alignment - left a fastball in the middle of the plate though. Hangs another splitter to Lowe. Then throws a couple of good sliders to Caminero before hanging the home run pitch. I don't really know what is going on. Nothing? Just bad luck? Pitch selection issues? There is an argument to made that he should dial down the splitter and lean more on his FB-SL. Save the splitter as something to surprise lefties, maybe throw it 10% or 15% of the time. Can't be throwing something 27% of the time if you have nights like this where you have a 1/7 execution rate on the pitch.
  10. Oh he flips and he flops, it just looks different. Rather than being cute, ironic, carefree, and whimsical about the unpredictable nature of life and the necessity of adapting our opinions and conceptions over time while being intentionally hard to pin down for comedic internet effect (like me), Grant77 just denies having ever been wrong about a single thing - he'll rewrite history to look impeccable even if to himself only.
  11. I don't think he is soaring anywhere until he stays healthy for several months in a row
  12. Ah yes the two faceless bargain bin AAA lefties who never should have been on the team, why are they getting innings over Chad Green, why are they facing tough lefties like Soto - Grant
  13. Toronto is now 9th in avgEV and 19th in barrel rate A few weeks ago they were dead last or second last in these categories Still 27th in baseball with only 30 homers as a team but they should slowly climb up that category too, for various reasons (Barger and Varsho, plus Vlad/Bo/Tony/Kirk heating up)
  14. 99th percentile power, arm, and girth
  15. legitimately thought he was more like 25
  16. Blissful Been looking at Barger's fancy stat rankings all day. 17. I would be a bit concerned about Little throwing so much since he is young + he just spams that breaking ball so much
  18. He's probably riding Little a bit too much especially considering he is young, but that's all I can give you. 22 RP appeared in 70+ games last year. Specific game circumstances have made it appropriate to use Garcia and Hoffman basically every time that have appeared. Nothing irresponsible is going on - they are grizzly veterans! Being said, Y-Rod has probably earned a few more leverage innings. If you ignore his March 27th outing, season debut, where he gave up 2 HR, he has a 3.00 ERA and 3.84 FIP on the season. Chad Green has a 6.52 FIP and his Stuff+ has dipped below 100; I don't think Green can be trusted at all anymore and he should probably be RP6.
  19. Yes and because he doesn't have premium velo (sits 93 touches 95) people will be skeptical of the heater until it works near the big leagues
  20. Why do people think Schneider is overworking the pen? I guess it's just anecdotal since Hoffman had those extra inning games and then Garcia and Hoffman both had those blown games. Hoffman is 36th in baseball out of 188 qualified relievers in IP. He is 66th in pitches thrown out of 188 qualified relievers. Do people want John Schneider to not use his best relievers? The Jays' pen in total is 10th in baseball in IP (but this is a weird thing to look at in the opener era).
