  1. Are you guys f***ing retarded? There is a trade deadline in Yahoo. The Yahoo season is still going on. There has never been an add/drop deadline in our league. There will be no vote on anything, unless Dinger wants us to vote on whether or not he should dick off. I have the conch!
  2. It's messy. I dislike it. Stop doing it. This is a tight ship.
  3. There's also no net gain for the league for allowing trades in Yahoo after the deadline. Dinger misses the playoffs ONCE and look what f***ing happens.
  4. What if Tommy Joseph goes to Coors? What if David Hernandez becomes the nominal closer in San Diego?
  5. There is a trade deadline. The season is still going on. It's weird to have trade activity while only 12 teams can participate in it, and then have it affecting the FA pool during the playoffs. I don't care about people agreeing in principle. If you guys want to agree to trades in principle while the market of buyers is severely neutered, that's fine... you can post them and process MiLB portions if you want, but I don't think the Yahoo MLB parts of the trades should be manipulated until the Sunday of the championship week. Then people can manually input the trades agreed to in principle, which will make keeper input in the spring slightly easier. No need to undo anything already processed. I suppose if the MLB side is balanced and no drops have to happen then you can go ahead with it. Whatever. Again - it's the drops that I want to avoid. Shouldn't have trade activity messing with the FA pool during the playoffs. And again - I'm not sure why anybody would be compelled to sell right now when so many buyers are just not in the market or otherwise concerned. I don't see the logic of trading right now AT ALL you f***ing idiots. Rosters are unlimited in the offseason. Why would you drop people to accommodate trades when you could just wait a few weeks and drop nobody?
  6. Yesssss Arrieta hurt 2 innings into his two start week.
  7. Blue Jays team president Mark Shapiro discussed his experiences in the game with MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, and the wide-ranging interview touched on the Jays’ immediate plans for 2018. Past reports have suggested that the Jays are still looking to contend next season, and Shapiro reiterated that by suggesting that there is a priority towards retaining the increased fan support that has surfaced from the team’s recent postseason success. “In this situation, the desire to win and to continue to give a relatively new fan base — because a lot of fans that are coming are new fans — a reason to cheer and to come to the ballpark is probably more important than just maybe pushing the express button on how to regenerate and reinvigorate the farm system,” Shapiro said.
  8. As far as I can tell... 1. Silvergun 2. TCA 3. Jaysblue 4. z3r0s (154-9 = 158.5 wins) 5. Spanky (161-21 = 171.5 wins) 6. Havok (156-20 = 166 wins) 7. NJH (159-11 = 164.5 wins) 8. FTD (154-9 = 158.5 wins) ___ Dinger (149-18 = 158 wins) GD (148-19 = 157.5 wins) torontofan (145-24 - 157 wins)
  9. I need a play-by-play of the standings as they change... k thx
  10. How do you KNOW he's a top? He just says that online...
  11. Can I thank my own post 100 times?
  12. There are four DDL teams/orgs that have never missed the playoffs. One has switched owners and is for sure missing out (min/p2f) Two are at serious risk of missing this year for the first time (dinger, featherd) The fourth is limping in probably as the 7th seed (me)
  13. Could torontofan sneak into the 8th spot? Could GD? Looks like silvergun is taking his rightful place as #1. What a finish.
  14. Is Dinger going to get dusted by KingKat in the final week to miss the playoffs? Wow!
  15. Ted Williams is like, THE 80 hit tool. Many consider him to be the best "hitter" ever. He literally wrote the book on hitting!
  16. Most people would probably say Trout is a 70 hit tool. There isn't really a common definition of hit tool but most people use definitions like: - ability to square up the baseball - ability to hit for average - ability to make contact Trout probably strikes out too much to get an 80. Altuve is the best current candidate. Other historic examples would probably be prime Miggy, Pujols, Mauer. Ichiro. Tony Gwynn! Probably Vlad too.
  17. Pujols is a fun comp too. Ostensible 3B in minors, very low K rates, perternatural hitting skills. Hmm
  18. I don't even know if you'd call it 70 raw to be honest. An 80 grade hitter can hit a lot of homers based on pure hitting skills. I mean maybe, I don't really know, but 80/60 can for sure = 40 bombs some seasons IMO.
  19. Only offensively. The guy will almost certainly be a hard negative on the defensive side. Probably more of a ~7 WAR ceiling than the elite ~10
  20. He'll probably find somewhere to sign next year for ~10M. Holliday type deal. Hopefully not here. Pretty excited for the youth movement to hit. Alford-Pillar-Pompey-Teoscar at some point next year! Pearce UTIL/DL
  21. Did anyone post the Bo quote about Vlad yet? I will paraphrase. "He doesn't even know how to hit home runs yet. He doesn't have a home run swing like you see with big power hitters. He has 13 home runs this year and I think they've all been line drives that just never dropped."
  22. You only have a 4 point (2 wins) lead. Very close.
