  1. The last lists: Pitchers in AA and AAA https://www.radioscouts.com/blog/stat-scouting-the-minors-z-scores-for-pitchers-aa-and-aaa
  2. How fun would a real money roto auction league be where the auction uses your real money and the total expenditures = the prize pool?
  3. Anyone have a high Waiver Pick they'd be open to moving?
  4. Hashtag f*** brandy
  5. It’s not clear from this post whether or not you talked to all of their moms. Can you please clarify?
  6. Yes, I just meant throw Juan Soto in with all those guys
  7. If the Hall of Fame has not lost all relevance and credibility with Harold Baines, I would probably care about the hat thing.
  8. Harper was probably the consensus #1 prospect at 18 years old, before any minor league at bats. In terms of more general Age vs. Accomplishment, Juan Soto is one of the all time greats.
  9. It's crazy how anchored BP (and other places) get to their previous rankings. Who would ever take Andersen Tejeda over Danny Jansen? Who else would even have Tejeda in their top 250? Is he even a top 10 Rangers prospect?
  10. Yeah I agree that it's too late to change rule application for this year. So Victor Victor will not be eligible. We will think about reforms and get something sensible in place for the 2020 season.
  11. I am glad this was raised and I think we likely need to update our rule. Remember, the CBA changed the definition of "international amateur player" to mean all players under 25 with less than 6 years of professional experience. It used to be all players under 23 with less than 5 years of professional experience. It is now much more likely that an international player "subject to international spending restrictions" will be a straight-to-MLB player, the variety that we would prefer be included in the waiver draft. Ohtani would have been the test case, but we gave him to Hurl for free because Jose Fernandez, so we missed that opportunity to examine our rule. I will reserve judgment on Victor "Victor" Victor aka Victor for now. It's not obvious that he should be eligible for the waiver draft. He is 22 and would have been subject to international spending restrictions under the old CBA anyway. He might be in the minors for longer than you think.
  12. Baseball has the most umpire influenced events, but the biases of the umps tend to affect both teams equally. They both get the uniquely big/small strike zone. And replay has removed the blown call aspect from baseball, well most of it. I would say it’s basketball. Refs could call a foul on most possessions, so there are a lot of ref influenced events. You also see the refs favour certain players or teams in an obvious way. Football might be similar but I don’t watch it much. I don’t think soccer refs blow enough calls for them to have the most significance, even if giving a player a penalty kick is an immense decision. And for large sections of the game they really just run around and call obvious little things. Agree with grant seventy seven that hockey is not close.
  13. I think they obviously lack any high-end OF prospects but the system actually has a lot of solid OF depth now. Decent MLB ready guys like Alford and McKinney, then you have Biggio, Otto, Young, Conine, Stevenson, Noda, Davis, Wall, Palacios, a few others - a couple of those guys should turn into something.
  14. Blue Jays pitching in the system seems to be way behind the bats. There is a big hole in A and A+ at the very least. I think the team top 30 prospects would be about 2/3 bats. Maybe more. https://www.radioscouts.com/blog/stat-scouting-the-minors-z-scores-for-pitchers-rookie-to-a Could be why there seems to have been a focus on acquiring arms this offseason?
  15. He's really not - just terrible results in 2018 despite one of the best SwStr% of his career and the best velocity he has ever shown. He projects well. Decent chance of being a 3+ WAR pitcher in 2019.
  16. Second base prospects tend to disappoint (from memory). Long for Gray mayyyy be almost palatable. It's the ++ that makes this horrendous. Pick #36 has tremendous value.
  17. The Reds would be very stupid to trade Shed Long and pick #36 for Sonny Gray.
  18. They dumped Tulo to slightly increase their appeal to Machado! And Diaz. It all makes sense now
  19. I don't think any wispy window is going to force a promotion on Bo. They'll just make whatever decision is best for him developmentally. Maybe that is a mid-season callup (AAA can be dumb).
  20. He'd have to earn it. I don't really see a mid-season call up being there unless he is raking in AAA.
  21. His framing in the minors is near the middle of the pack in AAA and AA. His MLB framing was terrible, which is why he sticks out in the figure so much. Probably a below average framer (sad) but he should trend towards that fit line with a bigger MLB sample right
  22. I like the "OF" before Bryce Harper. I also like how fake Ken is reporting it and saying "reportedly" like he is reporting someone else's reporting.
  23. Todd you should know better
