    Statcast has some swing/take data. I'm not sure how to interpret and use it though; nearly everybody, even Trout, seems to have negative attack regions where they are not optimally swinging vs. taking. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/visuals/swing-take?playerId=624415&playerSet=hitters&year=2019 Biggio seems to swing at nearly a league average rate on pitches in the heart and he is elite at not swinging on pitches way out of the zone. He seems to be too passive on borderline pitches? I guess? It's a fine line though. If he doesn't have the hit tool to do enough damage on borderline pitches then his plan might already be optimized for his physical talents.

    To be clear, I doubt that he even changed his approach, despite his above comments. I don't see enough statistical evidence to support the notion that his approach changed at all. Some part of it might be lip service to the coaches, or maybe he felt like his approach was different and more aggressive when really he was just riding a heater and getting results. The guy has hit a lot of dingers since 2018 so he knows how to be aggressive and drive pitches. I don't see the strikeout rate changing much. Passivity is a double-edged sword that mostly helps him, and I don't think he has a great hit tool despite the elite discipline and plate approach.

    Cavan Biggio is my favourite Blue Jay and I get panic attacks when there is any talk about him changing his approach at all. This guy led the Blue Jays in line drive percentage AND in flyball percentage in 2019, with 27.6% and 47% marks. Here is a list of 2019 MLB players with at least 400 PA, a line drive rate of 25% or more, and a FB rate of 45% or more: Cavan Biggio Mike Trout Roll in the elite BB rate, shockingly good foot speed, and defensive flexibility/value, and he's quite a f***ing player. Holy s*** Toronto - leave Cavan the f*** alone. One of the main reasons Toronto could overperform in the next year or two is that Cavan Biggio has sneaky ~6 WAR upside. Think Matt Carpenter.

    He hit like .230 and .250 in Dunedin and New Hampshire, with normal BABIPs. A strong average is just not going to be part of his game, unless he completely changes his offensive approach, which would be f***ing retarded because what he does works and batting average is dumb s*** so who geefs a fock if he hits .230 as long as he gets on base and dings some dongs? Get over it, children.

    That's a .160 ISO. So you think he'll hit for less power than he did in his rookie season? Seems dumb. .240/.350/.420 is what to reasonably expect, and that's a solid player particularly as he's a guy who does the little things well. Offensively he's more Carlos Santana than Adam Eaton.

    They have his walk rate in the elite range, they just don't think he'll hit for average, which is pretty fair.

    Currently they project to win about 85 games and just miss the playoffs. They need to cut Pujols yesterday and hope they get a breakout from guys like Patrick Sandoval, Jo Adell, Jose Suarez and/or resurgent years from guys like Ohtani or Upton. Can't say that I am hopeful - they have depth issues. The same old issues, really.

    No, Pages was included in the initial rumour as going to the Angels. There were certainly other pieces involved, from the Angels, that never made it into any rumours. Pages + Stripling + Joc is worth a lot more than Luis Rengifo!

    It's not purely political (or even political at all, really). Huff has a long list of stupid, offensive tweets and public comments. Recently he criticized the Giants for hiring the first female coach and said stuff like "this has #MeToo written all over it", "couldn’t imagine taking baseball instruction from an ex female softball player. Have fun with that @bcraw35 @bbelt9 @BusterPosey." He's mostly just an *******. He probably labels things "jokes" in hindsight when they are insulting. If he was just an outspoken Trump supporter he would still be invited. f***, half or more of the players in MLB are probably Trump supporters - they are mostly rich and white so they aren't all liberals. The Larry Baer thing (Giants CEO) was very stupid. He tried to take a phone out of her hands and she fell off a chair in the process. It's bananas that Baer faces any repercussions at all.

    Indeed. BUT since he's already being kept around, I'd rather they just use him as the backup SS to the team trying to stuff some other s***** backup SS onto the 40 man. Also, maybe they can extract some value out of him by moving him UP the defensive spectrum.

    Due to a lack of response, I am assuming that BTS decided to ban Boxcar for a specific, benign post in one of the fantasy threads that was objectively not offensive and did nothing more than lightly tickle BTS' thin skin. This is an egregious overstepping of moderator power. How can I report a moderator for abuse of power? Why are we putting up with a message board where mods can single out innocent posters for arbitrary, undeserving punishment? This post is not a joke. I require a detailed response.
