  1. Chase Delauter doesn't even get to hit Weird decision
  2. Skubal is good for one more
  3. that's really cool, I would go to these for $10 if I was in Toronto probably a good chance to bring kids and get autographs and stuff too
  4. The team just never had viable alternatives for the closer role. Yimi broke. Nance and YRod don't really have the "STUFF" for it. Fluharty was never an option, lefty who throws 90. Little is not a good option, lefty who is too wild. Seranthony is the only one who could maybe slide in there with his Stuff but he's a walks machine. Varland was getting teed off on. He has the stuff for it but hasn't performed. Fisher is a rookie with a hittable fastball. More of a sneaky/tricky guy to be honest. Hopefully in the playoffs they are more aggressive with matchups and stuff. Or yank Hoffman if he doesn't look sharp. Use the lefties and Fisher/Seranthony if matchups dictate and they are still in the pen. Good chance Little/Fisher/Seranthony get burned getting to the 9th inning though. So Hoffman is just the guy left. Not really a glorious thing.
  5. Big deal because their offense sucks I think he was hurt the last 2.5 months so this is kind of wild but I love it
  6. bridge too far 5 shockingly bad outings is a lot for a guy and he was awful and lucky for all of September May 8.64 FIP August 7.64 FIP 5.23 xFIP September 5.10 FIP 5.77 xFIP In May you could argue he just got unlucky on homers but then for the last two months he was f***ing brutal and had horrendous K-BB ratio and declining stuff. Honestly quite scary, I think he might have broken.
  7. Giolito has an elbow issue and won't be on the Red Sox roster Could be a difference maker. Thins out the rotation after Crochet. More pressure on Bello/Tolle/Early/Harrison.
  8. I would have lots of confidence too if I had eight balls for nuts
  9. Mason Fluharty has the biggest set of nuts on the Blue Jays His performance against Ohtani and the Dodgers was massive when it happened, but hilariously important in hindsight Such a luxury to have him and Little in the playoffs to wipeout LHB...
  10. Okay who is their best projected reliever? Keep in mind that Hoffman's projections will carry the weight of his MLB dominance from before. Most other Blue Jays relievers are pop-up guys in 2025.
  11. Hopefully someone told this bean head that the score was 13-4 What was Brandon Lowe going to do about turning around a 13-4 game?
  12. There is always the chance that a reliever just throws 2 mph harper in October and is that much better for it. Hoffman's fastball really seemed pedestrian towards the end of the year. What if the adrenaline has him throwing 98 again? Dunno if this is likely to be honest from the velo graph he might actually be hurt...
  13. I don't think he is stupid. He has made some bad baserunning decisions in his career, but offensively the problem most of the time is almost just the curse of having hand eye coordination that is too good. He will make a bad swing decision and swing at a pitch six inches inside, and groundout. Aaron Judge would just whiff instead and get another chance to homer. Or he will get fooled on the pitch type and swing at a changeup but just through raw talent he will be able to make contact... on the ground. So yeah he needs to strikeout more. It's a weird thing to tell somebody. He could take a lesson from 2025 Springer and come into 2026 focusing on getting his A swing off more often, with aggression.
  14. The Blue Jays are a slave to projections. Rightly so. I wonder what would project better as the SP4 - Scherzer or the Varland+Lauer combo?
  15. Reds fans use to whine about Joey Votto all the time because he didn't get enough HRs and RBIs The Vlad disdain is similar I get it, you see him ground into a double play on the first pitch a few times in clutch situations and it feels like he is a choke artist. I get why people feel the way they feel. It's wrong but I get it. Most of this is because there is a small disagreement between what Vlad actually is and what people feel like he is or should be. You see him, as a first basemen with his body and tools, and think this is going to be a huge David Ortiz kind of masher. But offensively his comps are mostly good hitting infielders like Machado, Seager, Ketel Marte.
  16. Have to go for it This game is worth more than one game in a wild card series. Win today is like winning the entire wc round. Bradish should give the Yankees fits too...
  17. Jays can clinch the AL East and the entire AL tomorrow... Crazy.
  18. Caminero and Stanton homer simultaneously
  19. I think his mechanics are just f***ed up AND he is making poor swing decisions
  20. Can we just kneecap Chandler Simpson in the warmups?
  21. Vlad Glimpsero
  22. He has worse stuff than them and costs more and is less of a "trooper" and less likely to be on a playoff roster even in a nightmare (team bus accident) scenario. Like the thought process was probably something like... Ross: "okay, if half of the pitchers get septic hemorrhoids the night before the ALCS and we have to call up SIX pitchers from the 40 man roster, which SIX make it?" And the analyst said "Bruihl, Estrada, Lucas, Macko, Pina, and Tate" so they cut the odd man out.
  23. Ally Anthopoulos claims Ally Manoah He should fit in well with Bryce Elder, Walker Buehler, and Erick Fedde in their 2026 rotation
