  1. I'll take that as good news, actually.
  2. On a four seamer the spin rate (backspin) prevents the ball from dropping as much as the normal fastball. If the spin rate is high enough it can be a real whiff pitch, particularly up in the zone. Rising fastball illusion. Think Marco Estrada. This style of pitching has been very popular recently. Note that for sinkers, pitchers typically don't want more spin. Or at least, they don't care about more spin.
  3. I'm sure the Rays do really value it. They are just smart enough to get a taco kit that does both
  4. OMFG David Fletcher zero barrels in 2021 one barrel in 2020 one barrel in 2019 one barrel in 2018 THE GUY HAS THREE BARRELS IN HIS ENTIRE CAREER. THREE. IN 1200 BATTED BALLS.
  5. 1) There's no penalty. It's not a value determination. Just a list. Up to the reader to determine the significance. 2) You should get penalized for walking more. "a walk is nary but a hittor muzzling thy own lumber" - William Shakespeare
  6. Maybe Chuckles gets the most out of his players if you take a MACRO view. Terrible MICRO manager but what if, say, he was the one to finally get through to Guerrero that he needed to get in shape?
  7. Robert Puason is in the same league. .200/.269/.232 with 52 strikeouts in 105 PA. He's uhhhhhh ngmi
  8. 1) I really don't know. Too early I guess. 2) Vlad has better tools than Juan Soto, without question. Soto is more like, a Joey Votto tool package.
  9. I dunno, I find something aesthetically pleasing about .175
  10. Not that weird. Danny Jansen does this from time to time.
  11. See, it's tempting to put Guerrero #1. It seems like a complete homer move since Soto has been an offensive monster since 2018 and Acuna and Tatis are incredible two-way players, but Vladdy right now is performing at a level that none of the other three have ever reached over the long term. Perhaps within a season one of them has, I haven't checked. Basically, he may be significantly better than both Tatis and Acuna offensively and with his re-found athleticism and surprising defensive prowess at 1B the gap in secondary skills may be smaller than people think. Vlad right now: 4.1 fWAR, on 150 game pace for 9.76 fWAR Soto: 4.9 fWAR in best season (2019), 7.66 fWAR in 2020 projected out to 150 games Acuna: 5.6 fWAR in bet season (2019), 7.83 fWAR in 2020 projected out to 150 games Tatis: 150 game extrapolated fWARS are 7.65 (2021) 7.37 (2020) 6.42 (2019)
  12. MLB is disbanded then reassembled. Rank these players on your redraft board. You get them for a fresh six years. Just rank as many as you feel like. Acuna Tatis Soto Guerrero Franco Ohtani Bichette Albies Kyle Tucker Bieber Moncada Bellinger Gleyber Torres Robert Buehler Yordan Alvarez
  13. Lol he would be closing or setting up in Toronto right now. Massive projected upgrade on whoever their worst reliever is
  14. Insane. To have a competitive team with players like Vlad and Bo, on top of that farm... I mean they better not f*** this all up somehow!
  15. Tiny part of me wants to just say let the freak be a freak. He routinely played the OF in Japan. Probably could do some type of schedule where his OF days line up with days he'd typically be throwing anyway, in pitching side sessions. Pitch, DH, RF, RF, DH, Pitch, and repeat.
  16. Too early to call it a logjam since McGuire and Jansen suck and kind of suck. Adams is a bit of a longshot prospect. I do agree with you though that it makes sense to give some of these guys reps at other positions, in case several work out and trades just don't materialize. Adams and Moreno might be able to handle 3B and 1B, I dunno. But Adams is very likely to not hit enough for his bat to play anywhere but C - he's probably a JPA type hitter if he works out. Kirk will get DH reps obviously. I think the catching tandem in 2023 will more likely that anything be Moreno and Kirk.
  17. There are a ton of little options that are premium. Things like making it impossible to add red flag players
  18. I'll vote no. I really don't want this to be a paid league. If there is some other major and obvious change that requires it to be paid, then maybe we make future picks tradable then. But no way we go paid just for future picks tradable
  19. I don't think he has ever been billed as a wunderkind. Solid prospect but not a franchise guy
  20. Reds laugh and hang up. They don't even need an OF, Winker, Castellanos, and Naquin are all doing well
  21. I dunno man. The entire bullpen is on the DL, basically. Nobody other than the Dodgers has depth to cover that. Maybe the Rays, I dunno. In some sense I'm actually impressed that guys like Castro and Payamps have been as useful as they are.
  22. Oh, your best reliever never pitched in a close game you lost by one run? Managerial malpractice.
  23. Riley raise that trade value!!! Your time here is limited. You might get dealt for a reliever tomorrow
