  1. Pearson to close it out? Gulp.
  2. The timing here definitely makes it seem like Kirk was just overworked Makes perfect sense that a guy with his... body... would not be a functional 550+ PA catcher Probably at most he is a guy who can play 2/3 of the time
  3. Sure but it's just like the ice bath thing. He has a 74 IQ so he fails to appreciate how these things look in context. You've been dogshit for over a year, maybe stop shushing anybody until you are good again. You may know you are shushing your theoretical haters, but you are still literally performing the shush gesture to the Yankee stadium crowd when your team is getting blown out. Nobody likes your ice baths, maybe stop. He doesn't get it because he has a little itty bitty stegosauras brain.
  4. Oh we've all moved on from that I think Nobody is expecting anything close to 2021 again The question now is just... is he even 2022 Vlad? 3 WAR would be splendid. But can he even be a 130 wRC+ hitter anymore? I would love .311/.401/.601 but for f***s sake at least give me .275/.350/.475 or something like that Just absurd that he cannot run a .200+ ISO even when he sucks And stay glued to the bases you idiiiiottttttttttt
  5. Low baseball IQ It explains every flaw He's just dumb.

lmao at the high school hockey temper tantrums on the Leafs bench
  7. "Rebuild" can just be a 2 year process In hindsight trading Bo and Vlad two years ago would have been INSANELY lucrative. Of course, saying that now is just a dick tuck wet fart move because it's dumb AF to impute 2024 knowledge into a 2021 context
  8. Ignoring tonights results and thinking about other stuff... Varsho's reversal is simple a "swing less" success story His swing rate and o-swing rates are the only process stats I see with big improvements but both of those would explain a lot. His BB rate is up of course. Getting lucky too but the patience and swing decision improvements are promising I think.
  9. You can search for them on statcast but they only have AAA and A https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/statcast-search-minors
  10. Yeah Horwitz has like... one barrel in AAA. Good expected stats but almost no barrels. He probably hits the ball harder than Schanuel but that's not saying much. Will Robertson is a far more interesting hitter to me. Him and Orelvis are the real thumpers. Leo Jimenez actually has the highest xwOBA on the AAA team... interesting?
  11. Prediction: this will not go well
  12. IMO this just proves that he has a poor mental game How else to explain those splits other than, the idea that he should be crushing lefties gets in his head and his swing gets messed up?
  13. I am in one dynasty league where I have Holliday and Chourio. Never have I ever owned or promoted prospects like this in dynasty baseball, #1 prospect types. Cannot say I am enjoying the experience. .639 OPS for Churro... at least his HR/SB count is helpful.
  14. I would be really curious to find out the level of involvement that the team had in the offseason plans for: Varsho Kirk Vlad Yimi Kikuchi Did Varsho make these changes on his own or get told what to do by Toronto people? Private training or not? I know from Instagram that Vlad basically did eyewash with some person trainer that a few of his friends use. Stood on medicine balls and curled 20 lb weights, s*** like that. Seems like Kirk did absolutely nothing. Gained 10 more lbs, that's it.

What is your obsession with meat? I bet you don't even chew your hot dogs
  16. Man the 2009 Jays position player group could have been so elite if the timing with certain players just worked out better. Scutaro - 4.2 WAR Hill - 4 WAR Lind - 3.3 WAR Rolen - 3.1 WAR Overbay - 2 WAR Bautista - 1.8 WAR the next year he would breakout with 54 homers and 6.5 WAR Rios - 0.0 WAR, sandwiched between 5.5 and 3.3 WAR seasons EE - 0.1 WAR, sandwiched between 2.0 WAR seasons and a couple year before his breakout to 4 WAR player Wells - 0.1 WAR, one year before his 3.7 WAR dead cat bounce
  17. bring back TJ Zoinks!
  18. They'll heat up after some of the pitchers get hurt Then Toronto can stack up a bunch of 8-7 losses
  19. Why is Witt not just whiffing on purpose end this madness
  20. Isbel is a crazy defender out there.
  21. They asked 40 random executive to rank the top 5 front offices It's not really surprising that nobody said Toronto. Any of us would probably put five, six, seven, teams ahead of Toronto. It's more surprising that some of these others teams were even mentioned... the Mets? lol
  22. We aren't smart Gonna hack at everything here
  23. I love first pitch groundouts I live for first pitch groundouts
  24. Yeah they used to have to respect his modest power Sad what he has become
