  1. You want some of my s***? I'd be super inclined to trade bulk for 1 guy that I like.
  2. His true talent OBP is probably well below the fantasy relevant mean for 1B/OF. He has utility still, obviously. I like him more than a couple of my bench pieces but I too am facing a wee little roster crunch.
  3. Because he can sandbag 2/7 stats instead of 1/5?
  4. Maybe it was another team's scout, lol.
  5. I never saw the message. If people need to say something important it's best to post it in the league and or email a Darrell. Things in this thread get buried pretty past. As such, zeros does not have any rights to Dietrich and waivers / free agency will apply to him as per usual.
  6. Joe Blanton had some absolutely gnarly xFIP - ERA gaps between 2010 and 2013. RIP Joe.
  7. A big part of being a GM is managing people. You don't just get rid of a guy because he thinks he's a starter and there's no room. Massaging this situation and ending up with Happ as the #6 for the time being and interim bullpen long man could end up being important for Toronto. Maybe. Injuries can strike and pile up at any time and I think I speak for everyone when I say that Happ is definitely a better rotation option than Rogers, Romero, Jenkins, and McGuire, probably better than Drabek and Nolin, and possibly superior to Redmond.
  8. I think the thought was probably, Reyes will be back in a few days along with Janssen, so at that time they'll probably let two RP go anyway, bringing the team back in balance. So it's a few days with an extra RP, with Morrow and McGowan starting two of the next three, maybe that arm comes in handy. This is how the Blue Jays braintrust thinks. When the time comes I bet we'll see Wagner optioned back to Buffalo and one of Redmond/Rogers DFA'd. I doubt they DFA Happ but man it would be nice if some other team wanted to take him and his salary on. Maybe Tampa Bay.... lol. And on the CF thing, Kevin Pillar is playing like garbage in Buffalo and I think Gose is still firmly planted in the "developing" camp. I dunno. It's all so weird. Always so weird and convoluted.
  9. Happ adds nothing to the 25 man, aside from a long man who might be a bit better than Rogers. Gose could have had an impact with Rasmus' slightly tweaked hamstring. It's still egregious roster mismanagement to not have a backup CF on the big league roster. Bautista and Melky getting reps there is crazy. Two injury prone, older COF... but let's just throw them in centre. Ok.
  10. Bedard was already called up to be a longman (for Moore going on the DL), he'll slide into the rotation now. Price Archer Odorizzi Bedard Cesar Ramos Enny Romero Nate Karns Montgomery is more of a relief prospect. Hellickson ETA = early June Alex Colome still has 40 some odd PED suspension games to serve Cobb could be out 3 starts, or 15. Who knows.
  11. Yeah, aside from the regular Longo DL stint, they've seemingly been pretty lucky with injuries over the last several years. There was Cobb getting hit in the head, but he still pitched 140 innings. Different story on their farm where it's already kind of thin, and on top of that they've had Hak Ju-Lee blow out his knee pretty bad, Guerrieri go down to TJS, and a slew of guys get substance abuse suspensions. It looks like 2014 might really test the Rays ability to add wins in the margins.
  12. Bird Seed for 13/04/14 http://www.breakingblue.ca/2014/04/13/bird-seed-foreign-substances-early-jays-stats-frenchy-is-dumb-etc/ Scattered thoughts on early season Jays stats, foreign substances, closer carousels, Jeff Francoeur being dum
  13. Get rid of it. Increase views on the main forum slightly. Help bring everything together.
  14. You're looking for a SP, I'm guessing?
  15. Two 7 inning gems in a row (no ER, 11:1 K:BB), and then a DL stint. Oof! Oblique stuff can be all over the map too. Just 15 days on the DL is possible, but IIRC we've seen Morrow miss like, 2+ months with oblique s*** in years previous.
  16. Law is such a f***ing downer. Almost everything ends on a sour note. He doesn't even touch on Mondesi's D, and stops about a centimetre short of calling Nick Williams a non-prospect. C'mon! Basically the antithesis of Parks, who is overly positive and practically falls in love with players.
  17. "Manaea...take Stanek's hip issues and multiply them by 100. At least he had a tear and several guys have had solid recoveries from that. I see him as a guy that will be limited in his innings and his lack of secondary stuff will give him that "might be a bullpen guy" Stigma. If the guy that dominated the Cape returns...maybe he'll be in the equation again. I don't see it. I love future closers as prospects in fantasy though." Some glowing reports re: Manaea coming out of BP already this season
  18. I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Meso but I hate investing in catchers and I'd have to move some parts around first. Hmm.
  19. B B B B B B B not even close like, what?
  20. Strasvurg for Hitler? That's a bit lopsided....
  21. Sliding headlong into first base... Hamilton broke his shoulder/arm a few years ago sliding headfirst into home too. Smart guy, divine Josh.
  22. Brandon Morrow turning back the clock? It's like it's 2010 right now!
