  1. It certainly has a higher chance of being a positive thing than the Santana signing.
  2. Did Scott Carson get promoted?
  3. I guess if you find defense-first, fringe CF hackers exciting, then he's a treat for the eyes.
  4. http://m.mlb.com/video/v27112331/cwsmin-viciedo-goes-backtoback-with-dunn/?c_id=mlb http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/0/v35930455/cwsmin-viciedo-launches-a-tworun-homer-to-left hopefully he makes the squad f*** WAR. Kevin Pillar is a terribly boring player.
  5. Also, amazing nickname http://m.mlb.com/video/v36234729/mincws-viciedo-smacks-a-walkoff-homer-to-left/?query=viciedo http://m.mlb.com/video/v35930455/cwsmin-viciedo-launches-a-tworun-homer-to-left/?player_id=493364 http://m.mlb.com/video/v34114785/cwstor-viciedo-hammers-a-goahead-threerun-shot/?player_id=493364 Get him in camp with Donaldson and Bautista, get that leg kick going way up to his nipples, and you've got another RHH monster.
  6. Only 26 years old, controllable through 2017, minor league deal, probably some upside. ok
  7. Steamer600: .250/.300/.427 101 wRC+ -0.6 BsR -9.3 Fld 0.7 WAR Pillar: .265/.297/.396 91 wRC+ +0.5 BsR -2.4 Fld 1.1 WAR

not watching game, but derozan is sitting for the rest of it, right?
  9. run on Justins initiated hide yer kids, hide yer justins
  10. He's got like, no peripheral skills though. Kind of just an empty .260/.320 hitter.

  13. Remember when Houston asked for Stroman+Gose for Bud Norris?
  14. If Billy Hamilton posts the same stat line as last year, who, hypothetically, would cut him before 2016? (assume you can't find a trade partner)
  15. For some weird reason, I think not.
  16. Poor man's? Steamer600 (HR/SB/RBI/R): Rajai --> 9/43/70/56; .266/.310/.377 Revere --> 3/35/59/40; .283/.315/.346 Of course, Revere probably plays every day. But a fantasy owner in this league wouldn't be playing Revere every day...
  17. The waiver draft looks just as flat this year as it turned out to be last year. No notable separation in my mind between guys like Fien and Hunter, and first round guys like Shaw, Soriano, and Broxton. Rajai Davis could also very easily outperform Danny Santana or Scott Van Slyke (and also Kang or Montero, sadly).

  19. Last year he tried to switch to a predominantly 2-seamer throwing groundball pitcher. A 91mph sinker seems like a slightly better weapon than a 91mph straight ball. The positive way forward for Gallardo has that transition working out, and him maintaining most of his overall skill while turning into a guy with more grounders and less K's. Projections don't particularly like him (especially Steamer - 4.61 ERA in Arlington), but they might not really "see" the transition he made last year. As a locked in SP with some track record though, he's still probably better than replacement level. Many worse players were kept!
  20. Not sure if this is good news or bad news. Will having only 30% of his meniscus lead to chronic pain and a decrease in stolen base and base running runs, and defensive runs saved?
