  1. Why can't he start the year in Buffalo?
  2. Think of it as a stock option. If Viciedo's stock (skill) goes up, then, and only then, do you exercise the option.
  3. You had an extra waiver pick through trade. #81 would put you at 26 players. It disappeared at the start of the draft, as we've done before in all drafts.
  4. All of this discussion is rather silly. The fact that he's on a minor league deal shows you what Toronto thinks of him - not much.
  5. The end is in sight: 68 SVG - J.A. 6. I'll dive into the Fur Bush. Should I email jaysblue or not?
  7. 50/50s are the best way to build up your bankroll. I'm at like $170 on Fanduel now after starting the year with $10. I only set lineups a couple of times a week too.
  8. 56 SVG - Tommy Hunter 57 TF - Tanner Scheppers 58 TRM - Rajai Davis 59 FTD - Casey Fien 60 N49 - Allen Webster 61 GP - Travis Wood 62 JF - Alan Albequirky 63 BOX - Justin Smoak 64 HVK - Justin Turner 65 KK - Roenis Elias 66 SVG - James Loney 67 SAM - Drew Stubbs 68 SVG - Jay Happ 69 SPG 70 BTS 71 ZRO 72 TCA 73 NJH
  9. Well, I think the detractors would simply say that they don't think Tank is "good depth". Certainly BTS, the head of the naysayers, would call him bad depth because of his lack of present baseball skill. In order for Viciedo to actually be "good depth" he would probably have to improve as a baseball player. He's been worth -0.1 fWAR in 1800 career PA, so the past and present version of Dayan getting playing time over someone even as mediocre as Pillar or Valencia could get pretty annoying. And I don't think it's even fair to point to his career splits and say that in a platoon DH role he would be "good depth". See below: Viciedo has just under 500 career PA against lefties.

  11. Another way to read it is as a DH insurance signing as if a Navarro deal is becoming more likely.
  12. apparently Viciedo and Boras split up earlier this month
  13. They've also gone to arbitration this offseason and given out contracts with incentives.
  14. 56 SVG - Tommy Hunter 57 TF - Tanner Scheppers 58 TRM - Rajai Davis 59 FTD - Casey Fien 60 N49 - Allen Webster 61 GP - Travis Wood 62 JF - Alan Albequirky 63 BOX - Justin Smoak 64 HVK - Justin Turner 65 KK - Roenis Elias 66 SVG - James Loney 67 SAM - 8:36am 68 SVG 69 SPG 70 BTS 71 ZRO 72 TCA 73 NJH
  15. Yeah, his negative impact on team versatility would probably more than negate any hypothetical offensive upgrade against LHP. Valencia's career wRC+ against lefties is much higher too. The only value that Tank really carries is upside value. He has bat speed, easy plus power (double plus raw?), and true spray power to all fields. (chart) At his current skill and projection, he's a liability. He'd have to figure something out to be an asset, but at least some of the tools are such that he's "one click" away from being a guy you'd want on the team.
  16. It certainly has a higher chance of being a positive thing than the Santana signing.
  17. Did Scott Carson get promoted?
  18. I guess if you find defense-first, fringe CF hackers exciting, then he's a treat for the eyes.
  19. http://m.mlb.com/video/v27112331/cwsmin-viciedo-goes-backtoback-with-dunn/?c_id=mlb http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/0/v35930455/cwsmin-viciedo-launches-a-tworun-homer-to-left hopefully he makes the squad f*** WAR. Kevin Pillar is a terribly boring player.
  20. Also, amazing nickname http://m.mlb.com/video/v36234729/mincws-viciedo-smacks-a-walkoff-homer-to-left/?query=viciedo http://m.mlb.com/video/v35930455/cwsmin-viciedo-launches-a-tworun-homer-to-left/?player_id=493364 http://m.mlb.com/video/v34114785/cwstor-viciedo-hammers-a-goahead-threerun-shot/?player_id=493364 Get him in camp with Donaldson and Bautista, get that leg kick going way up to his nipples, and you've got another RHH monster.
  21. Only 26 years old, controllable through 2017, minor league deal, probably some upside. ok
