  1. At one point in time, Spanky owned both Julio Urias and Daniel Norris, the 1st and 3rd best LHP prospects in baseball right now (mlb.com). He picked Norris 118th overall in the initial draft (I think), and he picked Urias 22nd overall in the 2013 June draft. He traded Urias in 2014 in a 3 team deal that landed him Aaron Sanchez (KK got Urias and a high pick, TCA got Cliff Lee). He also traded Norris in 2014, to Silvergun for Wei Yin Chen and pick #41 (gross). Silvergun traded Norris + his 1st for Odorrizi (rape for Boxy). Boxy traded Norris and Rusney to me for Ryu. I just traded Norris to Kat for Urias. That's the story of how Spanky practically lit two elite LHP prospects on fire, and then they eventually got swapped for each other.
  2. Does anyone remember how exactly Daniel Norris went from Spanky to Boxy? The transaction history on him
  3. I think they wanted to ask him the obvious, hard question. Duqette didn't even try to politicize his answer - you could hear the frustration from him essentially being denied a huge promotion by his current boss. Pretty funny!
  4. The third question was on point and DD's response was very telling. That relationship between him and Angelos is thoroughly broken at this point.
  5. I don't see how you can reasonably rank them 19th when they have 3 top ~50 prospects that are major league ready. The value from those 3 alone should = top half farm. But whatever.
  6. I wouldn't even say that Dahl has more upside. Pederson looks like a legit offensive weapon. We can't simply define upside as the sum of a player's tools. At some point minor league numbers/production need to inform upside just as much as, if not more than, scouting grades do.
  7. That tweet is the very quintessence of Mike Wilner.
  8. Wilner is the absolute worst Toronto media guy for spewing out garbage splits information. I remember when the Jays brought in 37 year old Kevin Millar Wilner got all excited because he "RAKES" lefties. Check his career splits...
  9. I like all of them, to various degrees. Actually Delabar might be the most hopeless on that list in my books...
  10. What's the alternative - a flyball pitcher in the Rogers Centre? It's a lose-lose. Prima facie, no skill set really fits the park/team any better.
  11. He got non-tendered with a $3.9M arbitration estimate. He should be very cheap. Sorry, not non-tendered. He got DFA'd before the tender deadline. The Dodgers non-tendered him though after a replacement level 2013.
  12. Belisario would be under arbitration control for 2016 as well. Basically an automatic 1 + 1 option, a type of deal that Anthopoulos loves.
  13. Just a hunch http://larrybrownsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/keith-law-espn.jpg
  14. Why don't you go suck Keith Law's little eggs?
  15. lol @ Tyrell Jenkins in the top 100. C'mon, Keith.
  16. Probably could have gotten 2 Bradley Zimmers for Davis if he was shopped league wide. Was he made publicly available and I missed it?
  17. No, I'm generally cordial and sometimes sarcastically mean. Boxy is the one who scares everyone off with his blunt arrogance and stubby fingers.
  18. Actually if we go back to the old forum and quote mine for Fangraphs.com sheep guys who ended up eating massive crow, BTS is basically the poster boy. Every time I think of BTS I think of this one line he typed years ago when Baltimore was s***** - "A Nick Markakis is a terrible thing to waste". Always makes me laugh a little bit.
  19. Why the f*** is your thanked / total posts ratio so high? This forum is going to s***... I think in the history of his posting BTS probably has way more hilariously embarrassing posts in hindsight than wonderfully insightful ones.
  20. Hi Please tell us all the story again about how you took your FC team from worst to first in one offseason...
  21. I hope you get herpes and get into a minor car accident where nobody gets hurt but your insurance premiums go through the roof
  22. AA said that they have like 6M left. Call it 11M if they trade Navarro. They've effectively waited out the FA market at this point and there are still a basket of intriguing relievers left. I'd bet that Toronto signs one or two of them for nice 1 year contract(s). Also, for 2B there is Rickie Weeks, Everth Cabrera, Rafael Furcal, and Mark Ellis (unless any of the latter two retired and I missed it?). All project above replacement level. In the OF Eric Young Jr. is still a free agent and he's at least interesting as a 4th OF option. Still some risk/reward SP left too in Billingsley and Beachy. Hernandez, Villanueva, and Correia wouldn't be the worst possible swing man options either. I really think (and hope) that Toronto will still add a bit to the major league team. Need depth.
