  1. It would definitely be easier for the Yankees spin department to simply say, "we had to bring to best 25 man roster back to New York and unfortunately Alex was not a part of that group right now. This was purely a baseball decision. Oh my fhqwhgads, come on fhqwhgads".
  2. I think what they're doing is appropriate. He's an entitled twat, best thing to do is humble him right now. An in person apology at this point down the road would just seem like special treatment. I'd put him on the bus in spring training and make him ride to every away game with the kids. I think he's owed significant $ in bonuses for passing Mays in career HR too (needs 660). I'd definitely consider just releasing him outright if he looks like garbage in spring. He probably will look like garbage too.
  3. In defense of the new guy, some of what he said sounds really on the ball:
  4. What if I dangle Luc Snuggerud? Eh? Ever heard of him?
  5. should have said *hoping
  6. trade me all your good guys I'm a playoff team
  7. Defense + Offense = value 127 wRC+ last year 101 wRC+ projection 128 wRC+ career against LHP 161 wRC+ in the 2nd half last year (only 125 PA; normally don't care about this, but might mean something for a guy that used to be really good at hitting and then fell off a cliff for a couple of seasons. Did he fix something? Call the scouts!)
  8. I'd comfortably give him a few mill. Platoon him with Kawasaki and you might get a 2 win situation or something like that. Add in the insurance that Travis provides and you could maybe bump up the total 2B depth chart projection to ~3 wins.
  9. Better yet, kill the league and teach everyone how to play Baseketball.
  10. I'm thinking neuvo-commish was just trolling
  11. Idea #3 super long home runs are worth 2 points!
  12. Idea #2 implement the DH league wide.
  13. It wouldn't decrease them for any obvious reason. Might increase them if guys losing a bit of effectiveness chose to mess up their mechanics to get more velo (inverted W, etc).
  14. The union would never let them get away with that "relievers must face 3 batters" rule. Dozens of current major league pitchers would probably lose their jobs if that happened, right? If they want a bit more offense without substantially changing the game, they could always lower the mound again... eh?
  15. I'd trade Machado for Correa. It's a good risk to take since you have Bryant. Machado doesn't really seem to have huge offensive upside. But if I was on the other end of the offer, I probably turn it down. Don't trade Puig for him. Could also just draft Yoan Moncada, depending on your league rules.

  17. Just in case you need proof that Ed Rogers is fumbling idiot: http://www.torontosun.com/2015/01/23/the-inside-story-on-how-rogers-tried-to-replace-blue-jays-president-paul-beeston
  18. Yeah but it would be an "I'll go if you go" situation between two best buddies.
  19. Fawwwwk, Dodgers sign Ben Rowen. That guy is going to be like Darren O'day if he's ever given a legit chance. At some point down the road he'll be 32/33 and have several quietly superb MLB seasons on his record. 65% groundball guy with great minor league RA rate.
  20. The play here would be to take Pig f***er so that you can get Handsome Chase
  21. Are we sure they haven't walked away? Nothing is public. They may have reached an impasse last week and had no discussions since.
  22. Kelly Johnson and Jesse Crain sure would've been nice minor league deal guys. Could have justified them on major league contracts, actually.
  23. The minor league scouting reports on Hutch just seem wrong in retrospect. I remember them being: Low 90's FB with movement (sink) Average potential slider (needs work) Plus changeup And then you see him in the bigs and the FB doesn't have a lot of noticeable sink (doesn't get groundballs either), his slider looks like the better off-speed pitch (definitely plus and definitely his out pitch) and the change doesn't even really seem like an average offering.
  24. Every article written about the Duquette situation reads like intentionally leaked propaganda by either Rogers or Angelos.
