  1. And then Morrow starts the 7th with 8 balls in 9 pitches.
  2. Lackey always sucks farts.
  3. ~Julio Urias watch~ The 18 year old spun five (5) scoreless innings in his AA debut for the Tulsa Drillers. Urias struck out four (4) while giving up just one (1) walk and two (2) hits, both singles. *wink http://www.baseballprospectus.com/card/images/headshot_101992.jpg
  4. lol @ real starter
  5. Looks like we'll have to cross fingers for a bundle of late XBH in this Coors game to cash
  6. Devon Travis has incredible hands around second base. Turns and tags. Lightning fast.
  7. My example was a bit off. They didn't get an extra year of control on Hutch by keeping him down in 2013, but they did keep him from being super 2. Off the DL in early August 2013 but kept on optional assignment the rest of that year and he ended up just short of the super 2 service time cutoff. If they had called him back up in Sept 2013 he would've accrued more service time and been in arb1 this season. Illustrates the same point though.
  8. Damn, shoulder soreness and Holland is done with negative points.
  9. Yeah at this point I guess I'd be willing to tepidly climb back on to the SS Pineda. Just too bad we never really got to know the version of Pineda that sat 94 and touched 99...
  10. Bud Norris was garbage in spring too. The O's have such a boring, junky rotation. Their most exciting SP is Gausman, currently in the pen.
  11. Don't worry about that too much - Wacha also has a scap load timing issue (ow shoulder!) and Waino is a classic inverted W. ... man, being a fear-mongering charlatan is fun.
  12. Jaime Garcia is a poster boy for bad mechanics = injury. http://www.chrisoleary.com/projects/PitchingMechanics101/_Videos/Clips_SD/JaimeGarcia_CF_07202008_001.gif Huge scap load + timing problem = no wonder he can't stay healthy In frame 48 of this gif his body is in such an awkward position that if you saw just a still and didn't know who it was you'd think he's right handed.
  13. Definitely. I'd never nickle and dime service time on an arm anyway. Chances are every one of them will get hurt multiple times within a 6 year period of control, giving any team amply opportunity to keep them down on a long rehab and gain that bonus year of control (Toronto did this with Hutch).
  14. POP has been fluctuating all day. Game time POP was 72% a few hours ago now it's 14%.
  15. I was going to make a 5-way winner take all and invite you guys but I accidentally made it all day so I pulled out at the lineup stage. If you get an email/invite for some reason, then don't join. Unless you want to do it anyway but I'm not in it.
  16. Oh I know it makes sense, lol. I just wish they had a backup who could catch and throw.
  17. Hard call aside from McAllister. Noesi is junk. At least McHugh and Holland both have the talent to shut down any lineup.
  18. Pompey hitting 2nd today. I like it. Navarro catching BLECHHHHHH : puke : 1. Jose Reyes (S) SS 2. Dalton Pompey (S) CF 3. Jose Bautista ® RF 4. Edwin Encarnacion ® DH 5. Josh Donaldson ® 3B 6. Dioner Navarro (S) C 7. Justin Smoak (S) 1B 8. Kevin Pillar ® LF 9. Devon Travis ® 2B Having 3 switch hitters in there every day sure is nice...
  19. It's his changeup at like 89mph. I'd prefer Castro as a guy who can get more than 3 outs most nights. I want to see him pitch 80+ innings out of the pen if he's a reliever all year. Hopefully he doesn't get cemented into a traditional "closer" gig in the 9th inning. If it's Pedroia-Ortiz-Hanley in the 7th inning I would want Castro coming out of that pen
  20. If we're just talking about 50/50s then obviously the optimal lineup plays will benefit from a bigger pool of games
  21. Ah, didn't know you were talking about just afternoon.
  22. Gio vs Phillies should be optimal. I might run Brett Anderson out there. I doubt McHugh in Texas vs. the Rangers lineup (Prince, Choo, Martin, Moreland, Odor all LHB) comes out of the machine.
  23. If jays_fever doesn't post for a few days he's probably AFK grieving because I ate his babies tonight
  24. makes sense that you were too scared to play me
