  1. Well Hoffman was never really regarded as a top prospect until the Cape before his third year. I don't think he was even drafted out of high school. He had some big increases in stuff between his second and third years in college.... for whatever reason. He's a beanpole like you so maybe he just filled out a bit and the fastball went from low 90's to mid/upper.
  2. He's started 12 games in AA now and he doesn't really have a lot left to work on. They could reasonably call him up tomorrow.
  3. Maybe Realmuto can't frame!
  4. Scouts would probably put a role 45 on him and say that he might be able to carve out a career as a #5/swingman/LHRP. Projection systems would probably say that he could be a league average SP.
  5. Shouldn't it mean less variance? More likely that teams will have the same players.
  6. With more games, there's higher variance in teams/scores so I'd think the optimals would do better. With a small slate of games it's actually pretty easy to just look at lineups and pick a lot of "optimal" players yourself. Basically with more data to sort through, the human brain will be worse at picking a close to optimal lineup. So the computer should shine! Theoretically
  7. 9.1 IP, 4 H, 18 K, 4 BB 18 K/9 with a WHIP under 1.00 is alright I guess...
  8. that's better. Stanton vs Stults is like 1+1

Bruins fire Chiarelli. Guy builds a solid 5 year contender that wins a cup and then makes another finals. One garbage trade and just missing the playoffs once and poof, done. Hockey is cruel. Leafs might have interest?
  10. Jordan Walden does this too but Capps seems to almost re-plant that back foot.
  11. FeatherD is 1 for 26 right now. Almost as bad as Russ Martin.
  12. How could any scout give Steven Souza just 55 raw when he can park a ball there? idiots
  13. extra points for distance?
  14. There are definitely a lot of people not using any models. And even the ones who have some type of model, I think JFaS' would be a bit superior.

  16. I already have a conditional offer for Cobb accepted by Spanky, should he be out of contention by the deadline. Just need to find a way to acquire Despaigne for it to be viable.
  17. Much lower than I expected for both! Should trend up though. Being under 50% makes no sense. Being under 60% makes little sense.
  18. Yeah I did very well in hockey. It helps that the spectator audience is so behind on advanced stats in that sport, I think. If you have any type of reasonable projections then you're laughing, whereas in baseball anybody doing DFS probably knows about park factors, handedness factors, and can look up ZiPS or Steamer in a click.
  19. I can't seem to make any profit on DK, lol. Was killing it on FG. More plebs there? Anyone tracking 50/50 win% of optimals on both sites?
