  1. Beras has like 5 inches on Soriano. Biiiig strike zone. Long levers. http://cdn.c.photoshelter.com/img-get/I00008QXkrcdU9xg/s/600/600/Beras-Jairo-1206-Mitchell.jpg
  2. Tragic. That poor, poor absentee father. Jairo Beras is terrible. At the plate, he looks like what I imagine Miguel Castro would look like if he happened to get some PAs in an interleague game. Just all limbs, tall skinny bean pole, with no ability to connect with breaking pitches.
  3. Left her pregnant with Jairo? So he didn't even get a cut of the money?
  4. Yeah, this is just Ben Carsley's personal list.
  5. Well he went 24/37 in 536 PA, and stole 51 bags the year prior, so maybe the author is kind of thinking he'll be relevant even if he hits .220. But he'd likely be a bench player in that case, so....
  6. I also find the attention that Michael Taylor gets kind of baffling. The kid has struggled with the hit tool forever, and then he BABIPs .421 with a 30% K rate but puts up numbers in AA and all of a sudden people believe? It seems like an easy thing to see through, that what he did was kind of a mirage, but what do I know. I've never even made the finals in this dumb league.
  7. Seems pretty out of touch. Matt Davidson just hit .199/.283 in AAA and he gave him an HM. Also, there's Vogelbach at 71. Pretty sure a fat DH should lose top 101 status when he fails to crack an .800 OPS in A+ after a mediocre .824 the year prior in A and a third straight season primarily in A ball. So much wrong with it. But it's just Ben Carsley's list - not BP's.
  8. I would almost put money on Saunders getting hurt again before then.
  9. It's the curse of Adam Lind. You can't get rid of it that easily. Check the clubhouse for stray beard hairs. Did nobody vacuum?
  10. Seems reasonable to me. Hoffman could get there sooner (September 2016, making team in 2017) but it's much more likely that he'll hit some injury/developmental bumps which delay his ascent.

"We all know who he is, but I won't say his name. He might be Canadian." That's like, borderline tampering, isn't it?
  12. + he cares so much about fitting in and being a bro that he would never talk back to Dad
  13. Has to be the 28 year old who just said that he's close to retirement.
  14. It's up in the righthand corner, but there's just one bucket for the whole league. No specific matchup smack talk, which basically removes the whole point. At least we have this place.
  15. In case any of you don't play fantasy hockey and you haven't noticed yet, Yahoo basically killed smack talk this winter. It was the one redeeming feature of their stupid black UI overhaul from a year ago.
  16. Nice deal for you. You took your time and got above market value. Good job. Kunitz is like 40 so to get Milano AND Saad deserves recognition.
  17. Unless his skill really declines this year, they'll need his 200 innings so the $11M will be a no-brainer. Buehrle will be gone. But it's not even only about next year. It would be nice to have a depth catcher in the system this season who can catch Dickey and play solid D in all other aspects.
  18. I don't really know. I have a feeling that we'll never see Jimenez in a Blue Jays uniform for an extended period of time so I wouldn't really worry about it. I think experience catching a lame knuckler would be better than no experience at all with the pitch. Some guys can throw the pitch with good action, but they just can't hit the zone enough to be an effective professional knuckleballer.
  19. They should probably get Jimenez some reps with Dickey too. Or at least sign some hungry, old, free agent knuckleballer to chuck to him down in Buffalo for a few months.
  20. He might have said it, but I really wouldn't call spotting the corners with awesome stuff "pitching to contact".
  21. Definitely not. Some 97s in here: http://m.mlb.com/video/v34916683/aricin-schultz-tosses-two-perfect-frames-vs-reds/?query=bo+schultz
