  1. future as in, next week? you could probably argue for him right now. Sasaki, Jobe, Crews all graduating. Basallo can't stay healthy right now. Mayo can't even make the team. 10 months younger than Max Clark and has a higher OPS, few months younger than Colt Emerson and crushing him at the same level...
  2. Pre-season opinions on the schedule were that it was brutal through April and then softened up. I guess that is still probably true, but it doesn't seem like it is to the degree that people though. The rearview has 7 Boston games, 6 Baltimore games, 3 Atlanta games. Are Boston and Baltimore even good? Atlanta was scuffling when they hit town. And ahead of Toronto, there are some series that don't look as soft as they would have pre-season. The Tigers might be pretty good. The Athletics might be better than the Jays. etc.
  3. 15-16 with a minus 32 run diff is hilarious The expected win-loss is 12-19 Jeff Hoffman was 3 WAR, basically Play well and tread water through April? Nah. Get lucky and tread water through April? Heck yes.
  4. Okay but shut up about him or else he'll get hurt again
  5. Holy s*** Jays won? Vlad didn't choke? Wow
  6. very weird, he either jumped on purpose or just got excited and jumped and is the biggest klutz in history
  7. Good time to remind people that 29 teams fail to win the World Series every year so if you an eternal pessimist and the baseball team you post about mostly sucks, that doesn't necessarily make you special or smart. Similarly, if someone was optimistic about a team or player and they turned out to be wrong, they aren't necessarily dumb they may just live life without choosing to be a dipshit all the time.
  8. Also, Bowden Francis completely regressed and Max Scherzer couldn't even give them one start and Alan Roden is actually just a non-prospect. Truly nothing good ever happens here
  9. Ross Atkins - "I am going to single out and put some pressure on Alan Roden" *ruins Alan Roden's entire career*
  10. I expect him to be in Buffalo in a week, unless there are other injuries. I can't see one argument for keeping him up. He is being outperformed by all of Barger, Straw, and Lukes (xwOBA) He no longer projects better than that trio His platoon viability is redundant with Barger and Lukes He probably benefits more than any of the other three from consistent playing time to develop should be in AAA yesterday
  11. Bowden Francis impersonating Kyle Gibson eh
  12. The Toronto Blue Jays are a horribly woeful organization
  13. lowkey Dalton Varshew is a huge upgrade from Bill Wagner better in every single way team gets a boost on every side of the ball TURD UPGRADE - HIGH FIBER PLAYER INCOMING
  14. The roster is just a TURD STEW at this point. Lots of pieces but they are ALL TURDS!!!!
  15. Crochet vs TBD I kind of like tbd tbh
  16. The farm system rebuilding strategy is off to a terrible start. I guess "stat scout a bunch of guys that other teams don't value and trade for them" is not a market inefficiency in 2025
  17. I don't think that is what they are saying. Williams is asking Mattingly if he knows his personal batted ball profile, basically. Mattingly reveals that he THINKS (i.e. feels) like more of his outs come in the air. Williams KNOWS that Mattingly is wrong and more of his outs come on the ground. Williams reveals that he always wanted to make more outs in the air but he still made more on the ground. In other words it's hard to lift the ball. Mattingly then, like an idiot, says he wants to make more outs on the ground (in other words, keep the ball on the ground) because there is a better chance of getting a hit. Williams then says the other teams want to keep you on the ground because you can't do damage. They will gladly let you hit a single. It's really quite embarrassing for Mattingly. Basically, Williams understands RE24 style thinking and the weighted value of events, innately. Mattingly does not and not only does not know his own batted ball profile but also seems to not understand the value of singles vs XBH.
  18. didn't he hit 2 HR on the last day of the season
  19. They suddenly have a very nice offensive core. Worst defensive team imaginable though.
  20. The fun things this year are basically... George Springer and the Yimi/Hoff tandem. That's about it. I guess if you like gritty vet SPs you enjoy most of what Bassitt has done.
  21. I think about this article all the time Amazing in retrospect. Williams knew exactly what he was talking about - he could have been a 2020s saber hitting bro, lmao. Mattingly has no clue.
  22. Spanky, it's over Look at the roster and observe how the players are performing It is hopeless
  23. I just literally vomited all over my desk
