  1. Lol,based on what? He's a weak slap hitting all glove with a noodle arm infielder. He can't play short or third with much efficiency. He may draw a lot of pitches per AB, but that's it. Goins would produce a higher WAR in the same amount of playing time guaranteed, and we don't have to pay him $3.3mil per for three years. This would be a joke of a signing, as essentially he would clone Kawasaki. Actually, I think Kawasaki has a better arm from the video I had seen, but not a better glove.
  2. Depth move. Will hit in the middle of the Bison's order. I like the fact AA is conscious of keeping the Buffalo people happy while adding depth. Having our AAA affiliate in Buffalo is more important than some may think.
  3. If Janssen is re-signed, he'll be a 7th / 8th inning guy. It all depends on how much we can get him for.
  4. I completely agree. Four years of Markakis is too much.
  5. Now that the team is greatly improved, of course he wants back in.
  6. Yeah, 4/44. Nice AAS, but four years was the breaker. AA would have signed him for 3/36 guaranteed. Markakis grew up in Atlanta, so that was a huge factor.
  7. WTF you want from me? Should I be upset and start throwing an Internet tantrum? For the money, he's a solid acquisition. AA is obviously combining this trade with a free agent SP signing.
  8. LMAO.. What's his contract like? I don't hate Saunders, I just like Melky or Markakis more. I'm good with this. We're signing a free agent SP for sure now, plus a few pen arms. AA has been let loose, good thing he told Beeston to stay the f*** out if his business this off season.
  9. Average defender at best, but you can hide him in LF. OBP skills would bode well.
  10. You're a little late bud, but thanks.
  11. I think he meant the numbers he put up with a tumour on his spine is above average, not in general, although nothing to compare it to. I agree signing someone close to Melky's numbers while gaining a first round pick is probably the way to go. We need table setters though, which Saunders is not. Markakis or Aoki, although I'm not a fan of the latter's defence.
  12. Are you serious? The guy had a f***ing tumour on his spine while he was playing.
  13. Why bring up Goins? I know what he is, just HOPED his bat would improve. Regarding Saunders, he's done squat for five years, but has a decent half season this year and he's now transformed into a better option than Melky and Markakis. Laughable.
  14. Farmers Almanac says its going to be a warm winter this year.
  15. Why? Because he has a little more power? He's had ONE decent year, and it was last year in only 78 games. What happened in the previous five? Oh,because he's Canadian and we should take a flyer over someone who is proven? Odds are if he played a full season this year, his numbers would retreat back to his career norm ( .231 / .301). It's like saying Kevin Pillar will out WAR Melky and Markakis if given the chance. Can it happen? Sure, but its highly unlikely.
  16. WTF is the love for Saunders about? Career . 231 /. 301,no thanks. Aoki is a decent hitter and can get on base, but his defence is below average. Markakis is the way to go if Melky walks, although Markakis and a draft pick sounds pretty nice.
  17. Good. Gives AA another possible option in Markakis if Melky doesn't re-sign.
  18. Now that I think about it further, AA's next move will be signing Markakis ( 3/39). Defence seems to be his train of thought this off season so far.
  19. Ichiro? Aoki? Trade for Bruce? Not a chance in hell. Re sign Melky would be best to fill LF, if not, signing Nick Markakis to man LF would be the next best option. Scrappy left handed bat who has always proved to have the ability to get on base. He'd also provide the best defence from any of the other choices.
  20. EE batting sixth will not happen, not in this universe anyway. Martin or Melky will bat sixth, not EE.
  21. You'd be surprised at what Dickey could get from an NL team. 200 innings of sub 4 ERA ball in the AL East with his contract holds value, especially in the NL.
  22. I wouldn't be too sure about that. It seems AA is looking at strengthening clubhouse atmosphere and all indications suggest that Dickey is a clubhouse flake. AA has so far not only increased the talent level, but also clubhouse presence. Shopping Dickey and Thole and then signing a free agent starter sounds like par for the course here.
  23. Thank God Nolin had some solid AFL starts, or else it would have been Norris going back. THE NINJA IS BACK
  24. Bean's team say the advanced analytics call it a "win". LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
