  1. Nothing wrong with thinking outside the box, as Pompey at the top will eventually come, but not just yet. Having Smoak and Saunders ahead of Donaldson is lunacy and is not realistic and will never happen. I'm pleading the fifth regarding Goins, lol. I like this.. Martin Reyes Bautista Donaldson EE Saunders Smoak Travis Pompey Two rookies at the bottom, f*** it. Both seem to possess OBP skills. Can't be any worse than rolling with Pillar and Izturis. Goins to replace Reyes defensively in late inning leads. Gibby is going to have to be creative in easing Reyes into accepting this.
  2. Take away the giggles..
  3. You know what's worse than a skinny Asian insulting people in the comfort of cyberspace? A fat Asian.
  4. s***, why did you tell me that. Now all I'll be picturing is him doing the Gangnam style accompanying his insults.
  5. A 110lb Asian on an internet message board. Did you expect anything different?
  6. "Anyway, I don't really want to stifle discussion. Gruber gets a free pass on insulting me if he desires." LOL.. cf
  7. Not enough bats missed bro, inducing weak contact doesn't cut it here. If his control can remain in the neighbourhood like in the 33 IP out of the pen, then I say his value is in the back end of the pen (huge set up potential). AA will ultimately give him a shot to start just to see what he's got, but it may appear given his command lies within two pitches, his destiny is in the pen. He's young though, so developing secondaries combined with sharpening his composure when adversity strikes is not out of the question, but it's not an easy thing to obtain with any player. He seems to be the type that will thrive in smaller windowed assignments (two innings max). The thing is, there is nothing wrong with that and is extremely valuable.
  8. He's staying in Japan. He's got it way to good in Japan and to give it all that up to play second base, deal with the language barrier and make basically the same money makes no sense on his part. He's not going anywhere.
  9. Pretty sure the updates were every 20 & 50 minutes past the hour. Remember Van Earl Wright.. "that ball is hit deep.... over the wall in left field (emphatically)". Nick Charles and Fred Hickman were the hosts of the 30 minute Headline Sports segment. Great show, I miss it.
  10. As of now, i do agree Sanchez appears to be more valuable in the back end of the pen.
  11. If i knew who that was or what show that is,then i could accurately counter. Therefore, i'll assume Jerry Springer also amuses you.
  12. Stop being a manipulating little stooge. A reliever can have a long successful career by averaging less than a K per inning.
  13. Beat it Friedman lover. It'll be funny watching you jump ship this coming season, and don't bother trying to weasel yourself back on the Jays' train either.
  14. That's the point.
  15. Same to you squirrel.
  16. LOL.. So f***ing what. WTF is wrong with a pitcher who can induce a ton of weak contact? Is it because it involves a defensive play to record the out versus the strikeout? Mariano Rivera struck out less than a batter per inning ( 8.22K / 9) in his career. What a comp pick type mess he turned out to be. You syber guys are just too f***ing much sometimes.
  17. If I only had a dime for every time I've been there, along with all the foul balls I took home sitting down the right field line during BP on those cold metal benches. Courtesy Ernie Whitt.
  18. It's unfortunate this board is filled with exaggerating , s*** disturbing nerds like Jimcanuck. I've said it a million times that Goins' bat will block him from getting a starting role in the bigs, but is a solid late inning defensive replacement / spot starter. It's too bad there punk f*** heads here that are just looking to entice me into an argument.
  19. Does someone have you in a Full Nelson forcing you to read these posts?
  20. No, i'm saying that the numbers that Hurl posted are fact. There is plenty of evidence throughout his minor league career and a large enough SS in the bigs that boldly states he's a top tier defender. Do you think he's going to forget how to play defense? Defense does not go into slumps, but it can regress with age. Goins is nowhere near age regression, so yes the defensive numbers he's put up so far in the bigs are sustainable.
  21. See how s*** starts? Did i say that?
  22. Yeah you're right. He'd probably have better defensive numbers over a full season.
  23. So now you're going to question his defensive value with a half a season sample? Lol..
  24. Word.. Shout out to GD.
