    Bautista takes off from second base on a shallow fly ball to left centre that was 50/50 on being caught, but on a ball that was guaranteed to hit the top of the wall with serious hang time, and he waited to make sure. Get this cancerous f*** off the team.

    If Shapiro retools even moderately next year, Gibbons will be gone. The only way Gibbons is managing next year is if Shapiro basically stands pat and punts next season, which i can't see them doing. Rogers will pony up and approve the same if not a moderate payroll increase. I think Shapiro will present a solid proposal to ownership requesting a solid contract offer to Francona combined with some decent (and maybe one major) acquisitions and move forward from there. Rogers i think now understands the value of presenting a good product on the field = $$$$$$$.

    Why are you assuming we're going to struggle next year? We have the SP staff coming back (minus Dickey) and the bullpen will be better with a few additions. We will also be shedding the likes of Saunders,Bautista and Thole. Pillar could be a possible trade candidate, especially if he wins a GG. Let's see what Shapiro will do, but i think it's safe to assume he'll be looking to develop a more consistent offense with a little less power and more contact % and speed.
