    Pompey would definitely get picked up. Not sure how Gurriel will perform in the outfield but Travis is not a better option than Pompey in every aspect. Travis will be the player who most likely gets DFA'd this season if he has an underwhelming first half.

    MLB Baseball has unfortunately turned into strictly an asset management league. Half the fan base already knows that they don't even have a shot in the dark before the season even starts. Sad..

    We save $3.6mil while opening the door for our top catching prospect at a time when the team won't realistically compete for another few years. The mentor angle was exposed as a non factor. Why keep Martin around and swallow the full $20mil?

    It's ridiculous how 105 pitches now creates such a red flag in not allowing the kid a chance at the complete game shutout.

    He definitely has great stuff. I think the confidence thing is relevant, who knows what went on in Houston. Hopefully Pete Walker and the rest of the staff will have success clearing the fog and getting him in a simple minded set and work on hid fastball location. There's been an obvious improvement in all aspects lately.

    Maybe a confidence thing, but his fastball has been harder recently. He's also been locating his fastball well lately. I like this Giles, fastball primarily with a slider sprinkling.
