IIRC, in that inning vs the Yankees in June that Rusty is referring to, Zeuch had a good looking change to go along with the bump in velocity. I think he was worth a look as a sixth inning type arm with higher leverage spots possibly if he does well. His fastball was at 96 with good movement.
I agree. He couldn't command his off speed, wasn't extending on his change up. When your fastball is 91-92 with no movement and MLB hitters are sitting on it, then you're in trouble. Stripling is a fringe starter anyway but has been better since the delivery change. It was just a combination of having a bad night versus a tough offence.
How is Ryu starting in this series when he pitched Sunday? Management f***ed up large lining up the staff the way they did with all the flexibility from the ASB, except for starting Ray on his regular rest, which was a good decision imo. Not scheduling Stripling to start against Texas in the final game on Sunday and have Ryu start tonight versus Boston is not what I call efficient managing.
Nice sweep, now let's f*** up the Red Sox.
Poor JD, makes the final out and knows he's being sent down right after the game. I'd like to see him get some extended time on a MLB roster, but it may have to be somewhere else.
