Yeah I think Grilli has to have high leverage situations taken away from him for the time being. He's been pretty damn bad lately and Cecil and Biagini have been better.
Mark my words, Benoit/Grilli will cost us at least 1 game in the playoffs.
Jays scored 5 runs, that should be good enough. Bullpen f***ed it up today. Sucks to see a great start from Happ go to waste. Good series though. Offense is looking a lot better this last week.
Just need 2/3 from the Os and then 1 from Boston. 3-3 for the final stretch should be good enough for the wildcard.
Pretty sure some of his friends on the team can/will take care of Jose's family. Stanton was probably a good friend, and he's making like 30 million a year for the rest of his life.
Jose's family won't be rich like they could have been, but they definitely won't be struggling.
He looked pretty dominant against Seattle. I think the Yankees just have him figured out since he faces them so often. Same way we kinda have Betances figured out.
I definitely bought cheaper tickets this year (500s) because I know I probably wont have extras to sell. It was kinda cool to have the whole strip last year, I was able to sell some for double/triple face and they paid for the games I did go to.
I wouldn't say the Tigers are a lock. They've got 4 games against Cleveland (who have destroyed the Tigers this year) and 3 against the Braves (who have been playing well lately). Also 2 more against KC
Norris has still been good though. 0.9 fWAR in 11 starts.
Imagine a rotation of:
Syndergaard
Sanchez
Stroman
Norris
Desclafani
With Boyd/Graveman/Nolin as depth.
That's one cheap, young, nasty rotation, and leaves us with a bunch of cash to round out the offense.
Hopefully this is what Shatkins are working towards. I'm totally fine with being a mediocre team for another couple years if it means having a competitive team for a decade.
This loss is on the offense again. Gotta score way more than 1 run in 12 innings. Pathetic hitting again.
Also, it seems like JD has f***ed up a bunch of throws lately, probably due to the hip injury.
Barnes has good stats against lefties... He should have been kept in to pitch multiple innings.
Of course Gibbons probably doesn't even know about Barnes' reverse splits because he's an idiot
