The only thing I can think of is that he didn’t want to risk any more problems with Stroman before the deadline. For example, if Stroman was asked to skip his Tuesday start because he was on the trade block i’m sure he would have flipped his s***.
Maybe they go out and sign that ace when the time is right. In Atkins interview today he talked a lot about the financial flexibility they will have. With the infield and outfield pretty much locked up that could leave a lot of money to acquire a legit ace.
I went and checked Stroman’s twitter and he retweeted a couple of those Keith Law tweets.
What a f***ing baby. Get off the social media dude and find an actual hobby that doesn’t show everyone how f***ing dumb you are.
Once again, it seems like Atkins identifies a player he likes and settles for that. Never gets any decent secondary pieces in these trades.
I don’t like it. He doesn’t seem to be a very good negotiator.
Anyone else think they traded Stroman early because his next start was coming up today? Like they obviously wouldn’t want him to pitch, and Stroman probably would have flipped out if management told him he can’t pitch until after the deadline.
