  1. I feel like this doesn’t include all the failed sac attempts this year by Jansen/Espinal/Valera
  2. I’ll take A homerun at this point. He hasn’t hit anything hard in a while it feels
  3. Honestly just f***ing walk Judge and Stanton every time and we probably win this
  4. I don’t think MLB needs expanded playoffs but it definitely needs a divisional realignment or a different way of deciding which teams make it. Absolute garbage that the Braves are onto the NLDS with fewer than 90 wins meanwhile the Dodgers or Giants will be forced to play a wildcard game with more than 100 wins. It would probably look a lot better if they went back to AL/NL East/West divisions and had the top 2 from each division (8 teams) make the playoffs. Or 1 top team from each division plus the next 2 best records in the league.
  5. Exactly what I was thinking
  6. Also im not even sure Gurriel is healthy enough that he should be DH over Kirk. Some extremely questionable managing decisions these last few weeks.
  7. There’s no way the front office would tell him to start Reese over one of the other guys right?? Sometimes you can tell the lineup was constructed by the FO, but you can tell which ones Charlie does... I think
  8. Right, yeah that was a pisser. Would have been great to beat Barnes twice in 1 day.
  9. I remember that game and I was in the camp saying that replay being overturned was the right call. The wrong call was sending Valera in the first place. Vlad was up next. Also Semien should have done better there. Also if we had Dyson at the time, he probably would have been able to score.
  10. This was honestly the worst stretch of losses I think i've ever witnessed from the Jays. That week was so demoralizing. As for your question, if you just compare something quick like Bullpen WAR here are the numbers: Yankees: 7.2 WAR Tampa: 7 WAR Seattle: 7 WAR Boston: 4.7 WAR Oakland: 1.5 WAR Toronto: 1.4 WAR (25th in all of baseball) And that made the difference. Bullpen definitely sunk the season early on.
  11. Yeah I agree I don’t think we can be too harsh on the players this year. For a lot of them, its been their first full season at the MLB level. They had to go through 3 different “home fields” where the majority of fans were actually rooting against them vs New York and Boston. Making the fake playoffs in 2020 set somewhat unrealistic expectations on this team for 2021. Its easy to blame Charlie for being a dolt, but inexperience likely played a large role here too. Even saying all that, they actually surpassed their projections for this year. Absolutely no excuses for 2022 though. They should be competing for 1st place in the division.
  12. Who can resist this beautiful smile?
  13. They really just needed another few games of hot hitting to extend that great streak and we'd be in a spot right now. f***ing frustrating that it looks like they're gonna fall just short like this. Or imagine they didn't throw the ball away to lose that Detroit game. Or if Charlie brought in Romano instead of Hand in that Seattle game with the bases loaded. So many f***ing games pissed away. Im sure we'll be putting together a big list once the season is over. I can think of 5 more off the top of my head.
  14. There’s 5 games left
  15. Sadly true. Jays could MAYBE make it through if they take 1 from the Yanks and sweep the Orioles.... but they’re gonna have to beat the Yankees again in NY for the wildcard game.
  16. Its sad that the bullpen absolutely sunk this team. Starting rotation was solid this year too.
  17. If you watch the podcast that Shea Hillenbrand was on about a year ago, you can tell how much of an absolute douchebag he is. I don’t blame Gibby at all
  18. Yup. It ain’t over yet. But the bats need to wake the f*** up
  19. Stanton is a freak right now. A mutant. Do not throw strikes to this man
  20. Gurriel was dumb for not getting out of the way
  21. Idk man, the offense looks lifeless right now. Pretty much need perfect pitching performances to win
