Seems like maybe they're trying to keep Biggio away from good fastball guys like Eovaldi? Problem is, most guys have good fastballs these days... maybe they like Tapia's defense better?
Realistically, they wouldn't get caught. Its still a gamble though, the info could always come out and they could be denied entry into Canada for several years for lying.
